Aurobindo Pharma on Friday said a fire accident at Unit-IV of its wholly-owned arm APL Healthcare Ltd at Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh has resulted in production disruption temporarily. In a regulatory filing, the company said on September 18, 2025, at around 8:50 am, a small fire incident occurred in granulation area-10 of Unit IV of APL Healthcare, situated at Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh (SEZ Unit), due to a short circuit. The fire spread to a panel, affecting granulation area-10 and causing partial damage to granulation area-8. Out of the total 19 lines in the said Unit, 2 lines have been impacted for about two weeks, it added. The fire incident was immediately controlled through the in-house fire hydrant team, along with support from external fire tenders, and there were no casualties or injuries, the company said. India's first large private gold mine in Andhra Pradesh is likely to start its full-scale production very soon, a top official of Deccan Gold Mines Ltd said on Thursday. The Andhra Pradesh cabinet headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday approved a proposal to invite tenders from insurance companies to extend universal health policy, which will offer healthcare services up to Rs 25 lakh, said Information and Public Relations Minister K Parthasarathy. Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, he said over five crore people are expected to benefit from the universal policy. "The cabinet has approved the proposal prepared to invite tenders from insurance companies to extend universal health policy under Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY - Dr NTR Vaidya Seva scheme in hybrid mode," said Parthasarathy. As part of this initiative, the insurance company will extend Rs 2.5 lakh healthcare services while those extending up to Rs 25 lakh will be delivered by the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust. The Andhra Pradesh government has approved a Rs 856 crore incentive package for India's largest printed circuit board plant being set up by electronics manufacturing company (EMS) Syrma SGS. The package was cleared by the state cabinet headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday, officials said. Syrma SGS will set up India's largest printed circuit board (PCB) plant at an investment of Rs 1,595 crore. The project is being done in partnership with Korea's Shinhyup Electronics. Syrma SGS had submitted a proposal to set up a PCB manufacturing facility in partnership with Shinhyup Electronics Ltd on a 51:49 equity shareholding basis. For the project, the state government will provide 12.56 acres of land at 75 per cent subsidised cost. The project will be located at the Naidupeta industrial area, which is in close proximity to Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The project will be commissioned by October 2026 and is expected to add Rs 6,200 crore to the topline of Syrma SGS in FY2027.
Dharan Infra EPC on Monday said it has secured new work orders of Rs 1,171.21 in Andhra Pradesh. The EPC orders have been awarded by Skymax Infra Power, the company said in a statement. "Dharan Infra EPC either directly or through its designated subsidiaries, has received work contracts of an aggregate value of approximately Rs 1,171.21 crore from Skymax Infra Power," it said. The contracts awarded by Skymax Infra Power relate to EPC works and supply and installation at Orvakal Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh. Execution timelines are scheduled up to March 31, 2027, the company, which specialises in large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, added. A significant portion of the contract scope -- approximately 80 per cent of the total value -- relates to international procurement of plant and machinery, which will be undertaken through the company's subsidiary entities, Dharan Infra EPC (formerly KBC Global Limited) said.

Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation on Thursday appealed to the Centre to protect shrimp farmers and exporters with policy and financial interventions in the face of 50 percent tariffs and other taxes slapped by the US on Indian imports. The president of the chambers, P Bhaskar Rao, said the sudden spike in US tariffs has put the livelihood of 2.8 crore people who engage in aquaculture and allied sectors at risk. "Unless urgent policy and financial interventions are made, India risks losing global competitiveness in seafood exports.
