Maharashtra logs 2,336 Covid cases, five deaths; positivity rate at 5.38%

Maharashtra on Saturday reported 2,336 new COVID-19 cases and five pandemic-related deaths, taking the state's caseload to 80,32,246 and death toll to 1,48,056, an official said. The addition to the tally was a drop from the 2,515 cases detected a day earlier. On Friday too, five patients had succumbed to the viral infection. Of the new cases, Pune Circle reported 863, followed by 503 in Mumbai Circle, 407 in Nagpur, 180 in Nashik, 107 in Aurangabad, 103 in Akola, 92 in Kolhapur and 81 in Latur Circle. Three deaths were reported in Pune Circle and one each in Mumbai and Aurangabad circles, as per state health department data. The recovery count increased by 2,311 to touch 78,69,591, leaving Maharashtra with 14,599 active cases. Pune leads with 4,967 active cases, followed by 1,855 in Mumbai and 1,517 in Nagpur. New Zealand records 7,746 new community cases of Covid-19: Report

New Zealand reported 7,746 new community cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.The seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 community cases in New Zealand now sits at 8,703. Gujarat reported 884 COVID-19 cases and three deaths in the last 24 hours, which took the tally to 12,46,708 and the toll to 10,959, a state health department official said on Friday. The recovery count increased by 770 during this period to touch 12,30,470, leaving the state with an active caseload of 5,279, he added. The deaths took place in Ahmedabad, Surat and Bhavnagar, he said. West Bengal's active Covid cases dip to 26,727; positivity rate at 14.41%

West Bengal reported 2,237 new COVID-19 cases on Friday and seven more deaths, as per the Health Department. The positivity rate was 14.41 per cent as the new cases were detected after testing 15,520 samples, it said. The active cases declined to 26,727 as 3,258 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, it added. At present, 668 patients are undergoing treatment in hospital, while the rest are in home isolation. The state has so far reported 20,81,728 cases and 21,307 deaths.

Delhi records 712 new Covid cases, 1 death; positivity rate rises to 4.47%

Delhi on Friday recorded 712 fresh coronavirus cases with a positivity rate of 4.47 per cent and one death, according to data shared by the city health department. With this, the national capital's COVID-19 case tally climbed to 19,47,025. The death toll rose to 26,298, the latest bulletin stated. On June 1 the city had logged 623 cases while the daily tally was 946 on May 30, according to official data. The number of active cases in Delhi stands at 2,327, up from 2,209 the previous day. As many as 1,508 COVID-19 patients are under home isolation, the Friday bulletin said. The fresh cases were detected out of 15,943 COVID-19 tests conducted the previous day. COVID-19 cases have shown a rise in the past couple of days in the city. Delhi on Friday recorded 649 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 4.06 per cent and one death.
