Telangana: BJP Yuva Morcha stages protest over errors in intermediate results

BJP Yuva Morcha on Monday staged protest in front of the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) alleging that there is an error in the final results released by the board.BJP Yuva Morcha's Telangana state president Bharth Goud said, "Many errors have occurred in recent intermediate results due to which students were depressed. After seeing the results, 16 students have already committed suicide till now. Class XII results 'goof up': Telangana govt appoints panel

As parents and political parties hit the streets protesting alleged bungling in publication of intermediate exam results, the Telangana government Monday set up a committee to inquire into the handling of the process by a private IT firm roped in by it. The three-member committee will probe among other aspects if the Globarena Technologies, which provided technological and software support to the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE), carried out its functions as mandated in the agreement. The panel to be headed by Telangana State Technological Service Managing Director T G Venkateswar Rao would also inquire whether there were any errors in publication of results on account of any systemic errors of Globarena in design implementation, a government order said. Higher education system in India grim, needs more investment, reforms: Govt official

The situation of higher education in India is grim and needs to be reformed, a NITI Aayog official Monday said while emphasising on the need to grow human expertise in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Releasing a task force report on 'Emergence of STEM education in India', NITI Aayog member V K Saraswat said the country may have a large number of graduates, post graduates and PhDs but their quality is questionable due to the shortcomings of the higher education system. "If we neglect higher education, we neglect growth of the nation as a whole because higher education contributes to the nation's growth. Mild tension prevailed at the Board of Intermediate Education office here Monday after Telangana Congress leaders staged a flash dharna, demanding justice to students declaredfailed in the recent exams. Indian kids to train with a LaLiga club every year

LaLiga will be awarding multiple Indian students the 'LaLiga Football Schools Scholarship' annually from 2018/19 season onwards. The students will be selected from LaLiga's grassroots development programme in India, LaLiga Football Schools and will be sent to Spain for up to a fortnight to receive high quality training at a specially selected LaLiga club academy, a media release said. Former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra Saturday said peace, positivity and humility were needed in the world today more than ever before. Misra was the chief guest at the 27th convocation of the Nirma University here. Indian-origin professor faces inquiry over drawing double salaries in UK

A 44-year-old Indian-origin medical professor is facing a tribunal inquiry over his alleged failure to inform a UK university that he was still working at another varsity and continued to draw salaries from both the places for little over a year. Akhilesh Reddy admits being in full-time employment with the University of Cambridge and University College London (UCL) between September 2015 and November 2016, according to The Times'.
