We have complained to authorities several times but no action has been taken yet."Students sit on the ground and write on notebooks kept on their knees as there are no chairs or tables.It is being claimed by the villagers that in the year 2012-13, around Rs 7 lakh was sanctioned from the concerned education department for the construction of the building, but nothing has happened since then.
At least 50 school students fell after eating 'prasad' in Lohardaga district on Sunday, Civil Surgeon Dr Vijay Kumar said. The students of the school at Ita village in the age group of 6-7 year had 'prasad' after Saraswati puja. According to Dr Kumar, the children of the school started vomiting after taking 'bundi' and have been admitted to the Sadar hospital. "All of them are out of danger," he said, adding they suffered food poisoning. Meanwhile, a teacher of the school, said the school authorities would look into the incident.

In their orders, the district magistrates said the schools in Shimla district and Multhan sub tehsil of Kangra district would now reopen on February 13, instead of February 11. The decision to extend the winter vacations was taken in the interest of safety of the students as several roads are still blocked after heavy snowfall on February 7, the Shimla district magistrate said in an order Saturday, adding that the work of clearing the roads is going on. Similarly, Kangra district magistrate said in an order Sunday that the decision to extend winter vacations in Multhan sub tehsil schools was taken as roads have been badly damaged due to heavy snowfall and rain in the last few days.
Invigilators will not be allowed to carry mobile phones inside the examination hall during the Madhyamik examination that begins Tuesday, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education has said. Teachers, who have been assigned the duty of invigilators, will have to hand over their mobile phone 30 minutes before the start of examination to the venue-in-chage who will be a government official, Board president Kalyanmoy Ganguly told reporters Saturday. He said the move was aimed at preventing malpractices. Disciplinary action, including suspension, will be taken against those violating the rule, he said. Students were barred from carrying mobiles in the earlier editions of the exams. The Delhi Minorities Commission has started an internship scheme for students seeking hands on experience in the fields of minority rights, law and other related subjects. The Commission aims to induct 8-10 students from the final year courses of LLB and political science to give them experience in matters of law, minority rights and other such related subjects, said Zafarul Islam Khan, chairman of the panel. "Students from departments like law and political science can come to the Commission for a week or more, understand its work and how complaints are received and dealt with," Khan said. Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has closed a primary school being run in an old Hindu temple, paving the way for the minority community to worship at the site. The students of the school will be enrolled into nearby schools, the education department said. Officials said that the temple has been handed over to the Hindu community. Nearly 180 Kashmiri students, who are scheduled to write Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination in Jammu on Sunday, were airlifted from here in a special Indian Air Force (IAF) plane on Friday, officials said. "Due to heavy snowfall, the valley was cut off from the rest of world due to closure of national highway and cancellation of flights. In view of above, state authorities in coordination with Indian Air Force arranged an aircraft to airlift the students appearing for GATE examination," one of the officials said. They said 179 students left for Jammu Friday afternoon by C-17 aircraft from the Srinagar airport. A video clip of a teacher of a government school in Katihar district refusing to recite national song Vande Mataram after flag hoisting ceremony on the Republic Day has gone viral on social media, prompting the education department to order a probe, official sources said Friday. The man, who refused to recite Vande Mataram, has been identified as Afzal Hussain, a teacher at government primary school at Abdullapur village under Manihari block of the district. Vande Mataram, the national song, was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1870s.
