American science-fiction TV series "Colony" has been pulled off from USA Network due to its low rating in its third season.
Despite protests, Ali Zafar's 'Teefa in Trouble' breaks records in Pakistan
Protests apart, actor-singer Ali Zafar's debut Pakistani film "Teefa in Trouble" broke all records at the box office on its first two days. The film, also starring debutante Maya Ali, raked in Rs 2.31 million on its opening day and collected Rs 2.40 million on day two. According to website Box Office Pakistan, "Teefa in Trouble" had a record-breaking opening for a non-holiday weekend. The movie also impressed both the audiences and critics. A small group of protesters showed up at the Nueplex complex in Gulshan-e-Iqbal town with banners and and placards calling for the boycott the film because of the sexual harassment allegations made against Zafar, 38, by singer-model Meesha Shafi. The protesters later accused the cinema management of beating them up and snatching away their mobiles. Pulitzer Prize-Winning food critic, Jonathan Gold, has died at the age of 57.Gold's wife, Laurie Ochoa informed that Jonathan died of pancreatic cancer in Los Angeles on Saturday, after first being diagnosed with the disease earlier this month, reported the Hollywood Reporter.He wrote for the Los Angeles Times and had previously written for LA Weekly and Gourmet, apart from being a regular on KCRW's Good Food radio program.The American food critic often chose small, ethnic restaurants for his reviews, although he covered all types of cuisine. He also authored the book Counter Intelligence: Where to Eat in the Real Los Angeles.In 2007, he became the first food critic to win the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.He is now survived by his wife Laurie Ochoa and two children.

Thousands have signed an online petition asking Walt Disney Co to rehire "Guardians of the Galaxy" writer-director James Gunn, who was fired from the threequel. Veteran French actor Isabelle Huppert will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Rome Film Festival. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Italian actor Toni Servillo will present the award to the Golden Globe award-winning star in a special ceremony in Rome in October. "Supergirl" has roped in Nicole Maines as TV's first transgender superhero in season four. Producers made the announcement during the show's San Diego Comic-Con 2018 panel, reported Entertainment Weekly. A transgender actor-turned-activist, Maines will play Nia Nal, the newest addition to CatCo's reporting team who is fierce and driven to protect others. This season, Nia will follow a similar path as Kara/Supergirl that will lead her to eventually embracing her superhero destiny as Dreamer. "She has this ferocious drive to protect people and to fight against discrimination and hatred. She's the superhero we need right now," Maines told the audience during the panel. This is the second history-making news from Arrowverse after it was announced that the CW was developing a Batwoman series, which would be the first live-action superhero series centred on an openly gay lead.
Assamese film 'Xhoixobote Dhemalite' set for US release
Assamese film "Xhoihobote Dhemalite", which portrays children growing up in violent times and witnessing brutality around them, is set for commercial release in the US this Friday.
