Film director and novelist Ved Rahi has been selected for prestigious "Kusumagraj" national award for literature. Instituted by the city-based Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), the "Kusumagraj Rashtriya Sahitya Puraskar" carries cash prize of Rs one lakh, a memento and a citation. Rahi will be handed over the award at a function to be held at the YCMOU soon, the varsity stated in a release. The award is instituted after Jnanpith-laureate Marathi poet and playwright late V V Shirwadkar, popularly known as "Kusumagraj". Born in Jammu in 1933, Rahi has penned seven novels in Dogri language. He was given Sahitya Akademi award for his Dogri novel, "Aale" in 1983. A prolific writer, he also wrote in Hindi and Urdu languages. Rahi also made the film Veer Savarkar (2001), a biopic on the life of revolutionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Amy Adams has signed a first-look deal with HBO for a limited series adaptation of Barbara Kingsolver's novel "The Poisonwood Bible". According to The Hollywood Reporter, this will be the actor's first project under the agreement which she has signed with her manager Stacy O'Neil under their banner, Bond Group Entertainment. Morgan Freeman is set to star in Ryan Reynolds' "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard", the sequel to "The Hitman's Bodyguard". The veteran actor has joined Frank Grillo, who was last cast in the film, reported Deadline. No details are as yet available about Freeman's character. Samuel L Jackson and Salma Hayek are set to return for the second installment. Patrick Hughes is returning to direct and Tom O'Connor has penned the script. The sequel follows bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds), who is enlisted by Jackson and Hayek's characters to join them on a mission along the Amalfi Coast. Production is expected to start this month. HBO has revealed the exact length of all six episodes of the "Game of Thrones" final season. According to Deadline, the network's updated TV schedule shows that the opening episode, which airs on April 14, will be 54 minutes long. The second installment, airing on April 21, will be 58 minutes long, while third episode is exactly an hour long. Episode four has 78 minutes as run time and the final two episodes are the longest with 80 minutes each. Last November, "GOT" director David Nutter revealed that all six episodes in the upcoming season of the hit HBO show will have a run time of over an hour. The first episode of the eighth and final installment of the epic fantasy series is directed by Nutter. He will also helm three other episodes.
