Atom-bomb epic Oppenheimer leads the race for the British Academy Film Awards, with nominations in 13 categories including best film. Gothic fantasia Poor Things received 11 nominations on the list announced Thursday, while historical epic Killers of the Flower Moon and Holocaust drama The Zone of Interest had nine each. NCPCR finalises guidelines for child artistes in entertainment industry

Apex child rights body NCPCR has finalised guidelines to regulate children's participation in the entertainment industry and widened its scope to cover social media and OTT platforms for the first time, its chairperson said here. The draft guidelines released last year sought suggestions from stakeholders in the matter. Now, these guidelines have been finalised and uploaded, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson Priyank Kanoongo said. According to the guidelines, a producer would need permission from the district magistrate concerned before a child participates in audio-visual media production or any commercial event. They also state that junk food, including chips, carbonated beverages and other snacks and drinks, shall not be advertised during a programme meant for children or on a channel meant exclusively for children, Kanoongo added. Trai calls for overhaul of entertainment apps, tech convergence norms

Telecom and broadcast regulator Trai on Monday issued a consultation paper for a complete overhaul of existing legal framework around entertainment apps like Netflix, MX Player, Hotstar and Prime Videos. Through its consultation paper on "Regulating Converged Digital Technologies and Services - Enabling Convergence of Carriage of Broadcasting and Telecommunication services", the regulator has invited comments from interested entities around reducing complications as well as addressing gaps in the existing rules to manage convergence of technologies across IT, telecom, broadcast and space sector. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) said that the regulation of content in the broadcasting sector has become increasingly complex due to the onset of a large number of OTT (over-the-top) streaming providers and the OTT revolution has led to many gaps in the policy space of content regulation. Lionsgate Play to 'exclusively' stream 2022 Emmy Awards in India on Sept 13

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards will stream exclusively on Lionsgate Play in India, the streamer announced on Monday. Lionsgate Play subscribers will be able to watch the annual award ceremony from 5.30 am onwards on September 13, according to a press release.
