The debut edition of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG, which is the second largest entrance test in the country, has been marred by several glitches causing exam cancellations and leaving the aspirants worried and struggling. Here is a list of glitches and instances of what went wrong in the exam with over 14.9 lakh aspirants: Exam centre change: A last-minute change of exam centre on the first day of the test on July 15 led to many candidates missing the exam. Students who turned for the exam at several centres in Delhi in the morning slot reported they were not allowed entry. Several Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG aspirants are claiming that the exam dates mentioned on their admit cards have already passed while the date intimated to them earlier was different. The debut edition of CUET, which has been split into six phases, has been marred by glitches so far causing exam cancellations at multiple centres and postponement of exams for several candidates. However, the rescheduling of the exam for several candidates and attempts to accommodate the choice of city for exam centre, has left students a worried lot as their admit cards and city intimation slips are mentioning different dates. The students have been reaching out to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) requesting for another chance to appear in the examination. CUET-UG 4th phase: Students claim seek clarity over changing centres

Change in centres at the last moment, far off centres and no clarity on retest options -- students on second day of CUET's fourth phase were a worried lot. The first shift exam is underway on Thursday. The exam was cancelled at 13 centres on Wednesday following technical glitches affecting over 8600 candidates. "My intimation slip mentioned my chosen city as the exam centre city. However, when I got the admit card, I got a centre which is 150 km away and the entry closes at 8.30 am. I have been trying to reach the NTA but no luck yet," said a CUET aspirant Neha Singhal. Another aspirant, Anjali Mishra, said, "Till yesterday afternoon, my admit card showed a different centre and today it is a different centre. I had no intimation if my centre was changed last minute and have no clue whether I would get an option for retest". Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday hit out at the Modi government over glitches in holding the Central University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG, saying it was due to the incompetence and lack of preparedness of the ruling dispensation. "The Common University Entrance Test had to be cancelled in 13 centres today affecting close to 8,700 aspirants. This has been happening repeatedly under the excuse of 'unavoidable technical glitches'," he said on Twitter. "The real reason is sheer incompetence and lack of preparation by Modi Sarkar!," Ramesh added. UGC chairman Jagadesh Kumar on Wednesday said, "Due to some unavoidable technical reasons, examination scheduled for today was cancelled in 13 centres in Shift 1 and Shift 2. A total of 8,693 candidates were affected out of 1.45 lakh candidates. All the affected candidates will get a chance for a retest on August 25.

The fourth phase of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG on Wednesday was cancelled at 13 centres due to some "unavoidable technical reasons" affecting nearly 8,700 candidates, officials said. The University Grants Commission (UGC) said, "Due to some unavoidable technical reasons, examination scheduled for today was cancelled in 13 centres in Shift 1 and Shift 2. A total of 8,693 candidates were affected out of 1,45,885 candidates.

CUET 4th phase: Tech glitches continue, many students claim exam cancelled

Technical glitches continued to mar the fourth phase of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG on Wednesday with several students claiming that the exam was cancelled at their respective centres. Students from centres including Guru Hargobind Institute of Management and Information Technology in Delhi, Asia Pacific Institute in Jasola (Delhi) AIS Assessment Zone, Aakash International Senior Secondary School in Delhi's Nangloi and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies in Pitampura, claimed they were asked to go back citing technical glitches and server problems.
