Two wheeler major Hero MotoCorp on Monday said it has inked a pact with the US-based Zero Motorcycles to collaborate on premium electric motorcycles. The collaboration combines the expertise of Zero in developing power trains and electric motorcycles with the scale of manufacturing, sourcing and marketing of Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two wheeler maker said in a statement. In September 2022, Hero MotoCorp's board approved an equity investment of up to USD 60 million in California-based Zero Motorcycles, a leading player in electric motorcycles and powertrains. "Our partnership with Zero Motorcycles is a significant milestone in our journey towards ushering in an era of sustainable clean technology in the mobility space. With Zero as our partner, we look forward to accelerate the transition of electric mobility in India and across our global markets," Hero MotoCorp Chairman & CEO Pawan Munjal said. The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday reported a 10 per cent year-on-year increase in total wholesales at 3,94,460 units in February. The company had dispatched 3,58,254 units in the same month last year. In the domestic market, its sales rose to 3,82,317 units last month from 3,31,462 units in the same month last year. Exports, however, dipped to 12,143 units from 26,792 units in the year-ago period. "The volumes in the month of February indicate the continuously improving consumer sentiment and the company expects the positive trend to continue in the coming months, on the back of favourable economic indicators," Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.

Hero MotoCorp expects exports to contribute at least 10 per cent to the overall revenue pie in the medium to long term while aspiring to grow faster than the industry in the domestic market in next fiscal year, according to company's CFO Niranjan Gupta. At present, overseas shipments' share in the overall turnover pie is in low single digit. The country's largest two-wheeler maker, which ships its products to various geographies in Asia, Latin America and Africa, also plans to scale up its presence in the domestic premium segment. "As far as global business (exports) is concerned over the medium to longer term, we do want global business to be at least 10 per cent of our overall revenue. The country's largest two wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday said it has commenced deliveries of its electric scooter VIDA V1 in Delhi after having started the process in Bengaluru and Jaipur. The company said it is planning rapid expansion of its sales and charging network across multiple cities coinciding with the start of the sales process. "We have completed the first phase of our plan with commencement of deliveries in all three cities...Our next target is to expand our sales and charging network in India and global markets," Hero MotoCorp Head Emerging Mobility Business Unit (EMBU) Swadesh Srivastava said in a regulatory filing. Hero MotoCorp had launched VIDA V1 in October last year in two variants Pro and Plus. VIDA V1 competes with the likes of OLA S1 Pro, Ather 450X and TVS iQube.

Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Monday reported a marginal decline in total sales at 3,94,179 units for December 2022. The company had sold 3,94,773 units in the same month a year ago, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement. Domestic sales were higher by 1.83 per cent at 3,81,365 units as against 3,74,485 units in December 2021. Exports were, however, lower at 12,814 units as compared to 20,288 units in the year-ago month, the company said. Total motorcycle sales in December 2022 stood at 3,56,749 units as against 3,76,862 units in the same month a year ago. On the other hand, scooter sales were higher at 37,430 units as compared to 17,911 units in December 2021. In the three quarters of financial year 2022-23, the company said it sold more than 40.58 lakh units, a rise of 8 per cent as compared to the year-ago period.
