The website of BJP's Delhi unit was hacked on Thursday.The term 'BJP' under the menu bar of the website was changed to 'beef.''About BJP' was changed to 'about beef,' 'BJP items' to 'beef items' and 'BJP leadership' to 'beef leadership.'The homepage of the website displayed an image of beef fry, below which the hacker, identified as Shadow_V1P3R, posted a recipe of the dish.The rest of the contents of the navigation menu and the website remained untouched.
Goa appoints Namrata Menon brand ambassador to promote yoga
Yoga instructor and fitness expert Namrata Menon was Thursday appointed Goa's brand ambassador to promote the ancient system of physical and mental practices in the coastal state. The state health department announced the appoinment of Menon. In a statement here, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said Menon, who has been doing extraordinary work in the field of yoga, has been selected to promote it across the state. "I am happy to announce that we have appointed Namrata Menon as Goa's ambassador for promoting yoga," he said. The objective of this initiative is to increase awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage people to inculcate a healthy lifestyle, Rane said. The Panaji-based expert has been practicing yoga since the last 17 years and has been instrumental in inspiring many people to take up the ancient practice that involves a range of postures (asanas), the statement said.

Rohtang Pass to open for tourists from June 1
Rohtang Pass, the 13,050 feet gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valley, is set to open for tourists from June 1 onwards, according to district authorities.Kullu Deputy Commissioner Yunus said, "Tourists can now go to Rohtang pass from June 1. The road to the pass was opened on May 19 but it will open for tourists from June 1. After National Green Tribunal order, permits to 1,300 vehicles are being issued for each day. The pass will remain closed every Tuesday for maintenance purpose."The Border Road Organisation (BRO) had earlier re-opened the Rohtang Pass on May 20 for the movement of small vehicles, providing relief to residents of the tribal district of Lahaul Spiti.Rohtang Pass, on the Manali-Leh highway, receives heavy snowfall and is shut during winter, cutting off the residents of Lahaul Spiti from the rest of the state for several months.A large number of Lahaul residents, living in the Kullu-Manali area use the Rohtang Pass to commute between Kullu and Lahaul valley.

Couple finds hidden camera in hotel room in U'khand's New Tehri
A hotel owner was arrested Tuesday after a tourist couple staying at his facility found a hidden camera in their room, police said. The couple spotted the camera attached to the ceiling fan in their room on Monday night, following which they tried to contact the reception but no one attended them, SHO Chandan Singh Chauhan said. He said the couple waited till Wednesday morning and then reported the matter to the police. The hotelier was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the couple accusing him of trying to violate their privacy, Chauhan said. Police have seized the fan, hidden camera, the hotel owner's mobile phone and a laptop, he added.

Chinese tourism to US drops for 1st time in 15 years
After more than a decade of rapid growth, Chinese travel to the U.S. is falling. And that has cities, malls and other tourist spots scrambling to reverse the trend. Travel from China to the U.S. fell 5.7% in 2018 to 2.9 million visitors, according to the National Travel and Tourism Office, which collects data from U.S. Customs forms. It was the first time since 2003 that Chinese travel to the U.S. slipped from the prior year. Friction between the U.S. and China is one reason for the slowdown. The Trump administration first imposed tariffs on Chinese solar panels and washing machines in January 2018, and the trade war has escalated from there. The U.S. now has a 25 per cent tariff on USD 200 billion worth of Chinese imports, while China has retaliated with tariffs on USD 60 billion of U.S. imports. Goa looks for course correction as foreign tourists on decline
In the wake of almost ten per cent slide in arrival of international tourists in Goa during the ongoing season, the Goa government is undertaking various measures that include marketing the tourism potential of the coastal state aggressively at various forums. Tourism Minister Manohar Ajogankar Monday said the state government was hopeful that the trend will be reversed in the upcoming tourist season beginning post-monsoon. Macao sees rising tourist footfalls from India
An increasing number of Indians are thronging this island nation famous for casinos, with 12 per cent growth being reported in January-April over the same period in 2018. Government officials here attributed the rise in tourists from India, which has severe restrictions on gambling and related activities, to promotional efforts. "We plan to continue to explore innovative campaigns and working closely with trade to help continue this momentum of growth in Indian arrivals," Head of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Arzan Khambatta said. Over 30,000 Indians visited the country adjoining mainland China in the first three months of the year. Figures for April were not immediately available, but the officials said there has been 12 per cent growth in footfalls from India for the January-April period. Mortal remains of mountaineers Biplab Baidya and Kuntal Kanrar, who died in Nepal during an expedition to Mount Kanchenjunga, reached Kolkata on Saturday.The two Indian climbers died on Mount Kanchenjunga after falling sick while descending from the peak of the world's third highest mountain, their hiking company said on May 16.The 48-year-old Baidya and 46-year-old Karna died of altitude sickness at an altitude of 8400 meters while descending.
