Slamming Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for allegedly not fulfilling his promises like 'pucca' houses for poor, BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Thursday asserted that BJP would come to power in the State. Speaking at a public meeting here this evening, which was organised to mark the conclusion of State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar's fourth phase of 'padayatra', she said she could clearly see a big change happening in Telangana with the BJP coming to power. The TRS government has stopped the funds of Gram Panchayats and not fulfilled its promises, including houses for poor, she alleged. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, said the State's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is driving bulldozers against the houses of those who robbed the funds meant for State's development. "Do you want that kind of government or not?... when the BJP government came, the houses of such people will be demolished. .

KCR unfurls tricolour to mark 75 years of Hyderabad's annexation

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday unfurled the national flag on Telangana Jateeya Samaikyata Dinotsavam (Telangana National Integration Day) here, to mark 75 years of Hyderabad's annexation to the Indian union. Rao unfurled the tricolour few minutes after Union Minister Amit Shah hoisted the flag at parade grounds marking the celebrations of Hyderabad Liberation Day' elsewhere in the city. In his address, he said, My heartfelt wishes to the people of Telangana on the occasion of Telangana Jateeya Samaikyata Dinotsavam. On September 17, 1948 Telangana became an integral part of India. It transformed from dynastic rule into the democratic phase." Telangana recently celebrated the 75 years of Independence Day in grandeur manner for 15 days, he noted. The Chandrasekhar Rao-headed government had on September 3 announced its decision to observe September 17 as Telangana National Integration Day. September 17 is the day erstwhile Hyderabad State under Nizam rule .

Telangana CM KCR decides to name new Secretariat after B R Ambedkar

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday decided to name the State's new Secretariat, which is under construction, after B R Ambedkar. AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, CPI and CPI(M) welcomed the decision while State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said Rao should also keep his promise made during the separate Telangana agitation that a Dalit leader would be made Chief Minister of the new State. Following Rao's decision, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued a government order (GO) naming the Secretariat after Ambedkar. It is a matter of pride for Telangana people to name the new Secretariat building after Ambedkar, a CMO release quoted Rao as saying. The Telangana government is moving forward with Ambedkar's philosophy that all people should get equal respect in all sectors, he said. Ending speculations, Telangana Rashtra Samithi President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said he would launch a national party following more discussions with a cross-section of society. Seeking to provide a national alternative to the dominant BJP and the Congress parties, that is attempting at a bounce back, the TRS said it would reach a consensus on "alternative national agenda," by continuing discussions with various stakeholders. Telangana government on Saturday said it has decided to observe September 17 as Telangana National Integration Day. September 17 is the day erstwhile Hyderabad State under Nizam rule merged with the Indian Union in 1948. An official release issued after the State Cabinet meet headed by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao here said the government would organise three-day celebrations beginning September 16.
