RPF constable who killed senior, 3 passengers dismissed from service

RPF constable Chetansinh Chaudhary, who shot dead his senior and three passengers on board a moving train last month, has been dismissed from service, an official said on Thursday. The order to sack Chaudhary was issued on Monday by Railway Protection Force (RPF) senior divisional security commissioner, the official said. As per the official, Chaudhary was involved in at least three discipline-related incidents in the past. Chaudhary (34) is accused of gunning down his senior officer, Tikaram Meena, and three passengers when the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express was near Palghar station on the outskirts of Mumbai in the early hours of July 31. The three passengers, Abdul Kadar Mohamed Hussain Bhanpurawala, Sayyad Saifuddin and Asgar Abbas Shaikh, were travelling in different bogies of the train. India has started exporting potatoes to Guyana for the first time and the move will help in new markets for the country's shipments, a senior commerce ministry official said on Monday. The Indore police said they have registered an FIR against "handlers" of the 'X' accounts of senior Congress leaders including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, MP Congress chief Kamal Nath and former Union minister Arun Yadav over a post accusing the Madhya Pradesh BJP government of corruption. In a statement released late Saturday night on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Indore police commissioner said local BJP's legal cell convener Nimesh Pathak complained that a fake letter bearing the name of a person called Gyanendra Awasthi was circulated on social media. The letter claimed contractors in the state are being asked to pay 50 per cent commission. Hinduja Renewables bags 80 MW project along banks of Narmada in MP

Hinduja Renewables on Wednesday said it has bagged an 80 MW tender in the world's largest floating solar park along the banks of Narmada at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. "Hinduja Renewables was declared the successful bidder for Unit C in the Phase II of the project at a tariff of Rs 3.89/kWh yesterday (8th August 2023) by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), the solar park developer and the tendering authority for this project. RUMSL is a joint venture between the Solar Energy Corporation of India and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam," a company statement said. Asian Development Bank (ADB) is funding the common infrastructure of this project. The world's largest single-location floating solar park will be developed in two phases with a total installed capacity of 600 MW, along the banks of the holy Narmada River at Omkareshwar Reservoir in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.
