In a veiled attack on Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday called on the armed forces to remain vigilant with the "adversary" making desperate attempts to disrupt peace and hinder India's progress. Attending the closing ceremony of a mega eye camp 'Op Drishti' at the Northern Command Hospital in Udhampur, Sinha emphasised that the armed forces should continually adapt to and remain vigilant against the rapidly changing security environment. Over 2,000 persons from far-flung areas of Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar and Ramban were screened, and more than 400 surgeries were performed during the first-of-its-kind eye camp. Centre approves increasing MGNREGA work limit to 150 days in J&K for FY26

The Centre has approved an increase in the number of person-days provided under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act to 150 for Jammu and Kashmir, a move welcomed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare had recommended extending the benefit of additional employment of 50 days over and above the 100 days per household under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in the flood, cloud burst, and landslide-affected areas of the Union territory for the 2025-26 financial year. In view of the likelihood of increased demand for employment on public works due to natural calamities, it has been decided to provide up to 50 days of additional employment over and above the 100 days per household in the affected rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir for FY 2025-26, an official release said. J&K LG pays tribute to two soldiers martyred during counter-terror ops

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday paid tributes to two soldiers who lost their lives battling extreme weather conditions during counter-terror operations at Kokernag in Anantnag district. L-G Sinha lays foundation stone for projects worth ₹700 cr in Jammu

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday laid the foundation stone of 60 projects worth nearly Rs 700 crore and called for sustainable urban planning and its execution on the ground as a bold roadmap for future cities to mitigate environmental challenges. J&K L-G flags off first cargo parcel train from Kashmir valley to Delhi

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday flagged off the first cargo parcel train from the valley to Delhi which will provide a cheaper and reliable mode of transportation for perishable goods like fruits to terminal markets of the country. The cargo parcel train was flagged off from Nowgam railway station here and is scheduled to reach Delhi on Tuesday "I am thankful to the prime minister as cargo service has been started. J&K LG launches portal to provide relief to kin of terror attack victims

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday launched a web portal to expedite the process of providing relief and compassionate appointment to the families of terror attack victims in the Union Territory. Sinha said the portal, developed by the Home Department in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre, will be centralised platform to capture and maintain comprehensive district-wise data on terrorism-affected families. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said the parks at tourist places, which were closed in view of security considerations after the April 22 Pahalgam attack, are being reopened in a phased manner to allow tourists to visit the destinations. LG disburses pension to 12,660 beneficiaries under ISSS in J&K

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday disbursed the pension arrears of Rs. 6.14 crore to 12,660 beneficiaries under the Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS). Sinha said the ISSS is aimed at ensuring financial inclusion and supporting senior citizens, widows and differently-abled individuals.
