US President Donald Trump said he would soon meet his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping to try to secure a "great" trade deal between the world's two largest economies as crucial talks to resolve the tariff war that rattled the global economy ended without any deal. The US and China have been locked in an escalating trade spat since early 2018, raising import tariffs on each other's goods. Last year, Trump imposed tariff hikes of up to 25 per cent on USD 250 billion of Chinese goods. The move prompted China to increase tariffs on USD 110 billion of American goods. During a meeting in Argentina on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit, Trump and Xi agreed to halt any further tariff increases for 90 days beginning January 1. A BJP leader from Goa Friday said due to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's 'josh' (enthusiasm), the Congress and its leadership have lost 'hosh' (sense). BJP MP from South Goa Narendra Sawaikar Friday met Parrikar at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, where the latter has gone for a follow-up treatment. Nominal cut in budget allocation for CBI
The country's premier investigation agency CBI has been allocated Rs 777.27 crore in the interim union budget for 2019-20, a marginal reduction from last year's allocation. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing several sensitive cases across India and abroad, including AgustaWestland chopper scam, ponzi scam, illegal mining scam and fake encounter cases in Manipur, requires deployment of large-scale of manpower and resources. It has also been pursuing high-profile fugitives such as Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Jatin Mehta, Mehul Choksi and Nitin Sandesara. According to the budget document, the funds for the agency have been slashed to Rs 777.27 crore from Rs 778.93 crore last year. The Congress on Friday alleged that the government presented a full-fledged budget instead of an interim one, and said it was not a vote on account, but an "account for votes". Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, addressing a press conference after the government presented the interim budget, said Finance Minister Piyush Goyal tested patience by giving the "longest" interim budget speech in recent memory. Budget 2019: Rs 1330 crore provided for protection, empowerment of women

10 lakh people have enrolled for Ayushman Bharat, massive scale up of health care: FM
