Congress not implementing '10 guarantees' in Himachal: Jai Ram Thakur

The Congress which came to power in Himachal Pradesh in 2022 by promising "Ten Guarantees" failed to implement them even after one-year of its rule, former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur alleged on Thursday. He also said the BRS led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao runs the family-led dispensation in the state and that he came to know that there is no department left without corruption. Seeking votes for BJP candidates in Telangana assembly polls, Thakur said the country is progressing under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and there is a need that Telangana should also play an important role in further strengthening it. Citing Congress's guarantees in Himachal Pradesh, the BJP leader said the grand old party had promised that they would deposit Rs 1,500 monthly into the bank accounts of every woman aged above 15 years, but even after one-year, not even a single woman received the money. The Congress on Thursday said its Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme in Rajasthan is a model for the entire country and its promise of increasing the medical coverage under it to Rs 50 lakh will provide maximum relief to the poor and the middle class. In a post on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh noted that former party chief Rahul Gandhi reached Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jaipur and met some patients who were getting free treatment under Chiranjeevi Yojana'. Chiranjeevi Yojana is proving to be a boon for the people of Rajasthan. When one falls ill, it is very difficult to get treatment. Even the middle class people get into debt due to illness. But the people of Rajasthan need not worry. The armour of the revolutionary Chiranjeevi Yojana is with them," Ramesh said. "Chiranjeevi Yojana is a model for the entire country, under which everything, from kidney and liver transplant to cancer and heart disease treatment, was being provided free of cost. Will retire from politics, if proved I have taken money: Siddaramaiah

With JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy repeatedly attacking him and his son Yathindra, a former Congress MLA, accusing them of a "cash for transfer" racket, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said he will retire from politics, if proved that he has taken money, even in a single transfer case of government officials. He alleged such cash for transfer happened during Kumaraswamy's tenure. "I have told you not to ask about it (Kumaraswamy's allegations). Haven't I responded to it already? Let him tweet (post on X) a number of times. He is speaking about what they did during his tenure (as CM)," Siddaramaiah said in response to a question about Kumaraswamy's attacks. Speaking to reporters here, the chief minister said, "He (Kumaraswamy) is speaking about the money they (Kumaraswamy and JDS leaders) took for transfers. They took money during his tenure. In our tenure, we have not taken any money. I have already said -- I will retire from politics, if it's proved that I .

Pilot doesn't have CM benefit: BJP cites Gehlot's post not leaving him jibe

Pitching his Assembly poll contest with Congress leader Sachin Pilot as a "local-versus-outsider" battle, BJP's Tonk candidate Ajit Singh Mehta cites Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's "post is not leaving him" remark to claim that Pilot does not have the "chief ministerial face advantage" that he had in 2018. Mehta, who was an MLA from this constituency from 2013 to 2018, has been handed the tough assignment by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take on former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Pilot, who won from here over his BJP rival Yoonus Khan in 2018 by a record margin of more than 54,000 votes. Mehta is pitching this as a "local-versus-outsider" battle, asserting that he is a Tonk resident who knows the micro-problems faced by people and claiming that Pilot is an "outsider" who had won big last time due to the chief ministerial face advantage he had. "The most important thing is that the election is one of a local versus an outsider. It was a different matter during the

Hold talks between warring communities: 10-party delegation to Manipur Guv

A delegation of 10 political parties has urged Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey to initiate peace talks between the two warring communities in the state for restoration of peace and normalcy, a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan said. The team led by Congress Legislature Party leader and former chief minister O Ibobi Singh submitted a memorandum to the governor on Friday evening, noting that peace cannot be restored in the state without the intervention of the Centre, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They demanded immediate initiation for "peace talks with the two communities so that a durable solution can be achieved to the ongoing conflict", the statement said. The delegation met the governor after ITLF, a frontal organisation of Kuki-Zo tribes in Manipur, had on Wednesday threatened to establish a "self-governed separate administration" in areas where these tribes have a majority. The state government has strongly condemned the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum's call for .

Cong sent Rajasthan to top in corruption, rioting: PM Modi in Bharatapur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lambasted the Congress government in Rajasthan, alleging the party sent the state to the top in the number crimes and riots by letting anti-social elements loose with its policy of appeasement. Addressing a rally in Bharatpur, Modi taunted state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, saying the people have decided not to vote for the "jadugar" and that Congress will vanish from the state after the election. "3 December, Congress 'chhoo mantar.'" Before he entered politics, Gehlot, the son of a professional magician, toured the country performing magic tricks. Assembly polls are due to take place in Rajasthan on November 25 and counting of votes will be done on December 3. "On the one hand, India is becoming a leader in the world. On the other hand, you all know what happened in Rajasthan in the last five years. Congress has made Rajasthan a leader in corruption, riots, and crimes. That's why Rajasthan is saying - Magician ji, you won't get any votes,"

Kumaraswamy targets Karnataka CM, again alleges 'cash for postings' scam

The JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday alleged that an official's name mentioned in a phone conversation between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his son Yathindra has figured in the transfer list of police inspectors released on the previous night. On Thursday, Kumaraswamy, sought to link the phone conversation to alleged "cash for postings" scam, a charge categorically rejected by the Chief Minister. The order list comprising 13 names shows transfer of an official by name Vivekananda from state intelligence to V V Puram police station in Mysuru city. Reacting to it, the CM said although the record has proved that his conversation with Yathindra Siddaramaiah related to the development of government schools in Varuna Constituency, Kumaraswamy has tried to peddle another lie today to mislead people.
