Another Nepalese student found dead in hostel room on KIIT campus in Odisha

A 20-year-old Nepalese student of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha's Bhubaneswar was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her hostel room on Thursday, police said. The incident comes barely two and a half months following the suicide of Prakriti Lamsal, another Nepalese student of the same institute on February 16, 2025. The body of the B Tech student was recovered from room number 111 of the ladies' hostel of the institute, a senior officer said. She was a student of Computer Science and pursuing her B.Tech, he said, adding that her identity is yet to be ascertained. Yes, the body of a girl from Nepal has been recovered. It seems that she has committed suicide at the ladies' hostel of KIIT, Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh told PTI. There was no comment from the KIIT authorities on the death of the Nepalese student.

Dallas school shooting: Accused opened fire in hall, injured 4 classmates

The student accused of injuring four in a shooting at a Dallas high school was let into the building through an unsecured door and then walked down a hallway toward a group of students, opening fire on them and then appearing to take a point-blank shot at one, according to an arrest warrant released Wednesday. The 17-year-old suspect was being held in Dallas County jail on Wednesday on a charge of aggravated assault mass shooting. He was taken into custody several hours after the shooting, which happened just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Wilmer-Hutchins High School. Four male students were injured in the shooting and taken to hospitals, according to authorities. 86.5% students successful in Bihar 12th board exams, girls top all streams

Girls outperformed boys in the class 12 Bihar board exams, results for which were declared on Tuesday. The overall pass percentage in all streams was 86.50, lower than last year's 87.21. Girls outshone boys in all three streams. In Arts, 85.04 per cent of girls were declared successful as compared to 78.94 per cent of boys. In Commerce, 97 per cent of girls passed the exams as compared to 93.62 per cent of boys. In Science, 91.29 per cent of girls were declared successful as compared to 88.63 per cent of boys. Education Minister Sunil Kumar announced the result from the office of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
