Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) on Thursday announced the opening of its first hotel in Jammu under Vivanta brand. With this, IHCL now has a presence in Jammu, which is an important economic centre with a thriving tourism industry, company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Puneet Chhatwal said in a statement. "This also extends our itinerary in the union territory with our existing hotels in Srinagar and Katra. We are delighted to launch the 90-key Vivanta Jammu, City Centre which will be an integral part of the city's landscape," he said. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have five hotels in Jammu and Kashmir, including one under development.

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) on Tuesday announced that it has signed its second Taj Hotel in Kochi, Kerala. The Taj brand, which was established in 1903, has clocked a century with the addition of this 211-key property, IHCL said in a statement. "This is a momentous occasion as Taj's portfolio will offer 100 hotels across India and in key international destinations. "This growth is a testament to the unwavering trust our stakeholders have consistently placed in us," IHCL Managing Director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said. With this, IHCL will have 17 hotels across Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta and Ginger brands across Kerala, including five under development.

CIAL constructed the hotel, which is ideally located near the airport entrance, as part of its land utilisation programme and also to provide the passengers with hospitality services at par with international standards. Taj CIAL at Cochin Airport is expected to be launched by middle of 2024. The airport said it has awarded the contract to IHCL with Rs 100 crore expected to be invested by the company for standardisation of its interiors in accordance with the Tata brand's grade. CIAL has completed the civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works of the hotel and it will be handed over to IHCL soon for the development of the interiors.
