State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday inked a pact with Tata Power Solar Systems to build a 1,000 MW solar project worth Rs 5,500 crore in Bikaner, Rajasthan. "SJVN today entered into an EPC agreement for 1,000 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan with M/s Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd," a company statement said. The contract agreement was signed in the presence of Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN by Chief General Manager (ECD), SJVN S K Sood, and Vepul Jain, Chief - Business Development, Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd. Sharma said this Rs 5,500 crore-EPC contract is the country's biggest solar contract awarded till date. The contract includes end-to-end delivery of commissioned solar plant to SJVN including arrangement of land on outright purchase basis, power evacuation system up to the ISTS (inter-state transmission system) sub station, and operation and maintenance of the solar PV plant for three years. Tata Power Solar Systems on Thursday said it has won India's largest solar engineering procurement and construction (EPC) order for 1 GW project worth Rs 5,500 crore from state-owned SJVN Ltd. According to a company statement, this EPC order has been designed keeping in mind the innovative use of Make in India' cells and modules. The project will be developed under the CPSU (central public sector undertaking) scheme of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy and will be completed within 24 months. Covering 5,000 acres of land in Rajasthan, this project aims at reducing around 22,87,128 kg of carbon emission and is expected to generate around 2,500 million units annually. Tata Power Solar Systems has received a notice of award to build 50MWp solar PV plant with 50MWh battery energy storage system project at Phyang village in Leh, Ladakh.
Tata Power Solar Systems has been awarded a project to build a solar PV plant with 50MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Leh, Ladakh. The 50MW solar PV plant will be built on EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) mode. According to a statement by Tata Power, the order value of the project is Rs 386 crore. The commercial operation is expected to start from March 2023. This will be India's first co-located large scale BESS solution as well as first large scale solar PV project in the Union Territory of Ladakh to be set up at a high altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level, it stated. With the addition of this project, the order pipeline of Tata Power Solar now stands at 4GWp with order value of Rs 12,414 crore.
