Smartphone maker realme expects to increase sales in India by 10 per cent this year as it aspires to be among top five brands globally, the company's founder and CEO Sky Li said on Monday. Li, speaking at the launch of realme 12 Pro Series 5G, said that the company's expectations from India are high this year, with key growth drivers strategically aligned. "As we anticipate a resurgent Indian smartphone market in 2024, fuelled by widespread 5G adoption and a focus on value-centric offerings, our goal is a 10 per cent increase in sales within the Indian market. The Biden administration will start implementing a new requirement for the developers of major artificial intelligence systems to disclose their safety test results to the government. The White House AI Council is scheduled to meet on Monday to review progress made on the executive order that President Joe Biden signed three months ago to manage the fast-evolving technology. Chief among the 90-day goals from the order was a mandate under the Defence Production Act that AI companies share vital information with the Commerce Department, including safety tests. 'Samsung plans to start making laptops at its Noida factory this year'

Korean electronics major Samsung plans to start manufacturing laptops at its Noida factory in India this year, a senior company official said on Monday. Terming India as its important manufacturing base, Samsung Electronics President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business TM Roh told reporters here that the preparation for the laptop manufacturing is in progress in India. "We will start manufacturing laptops this year at the Noida factory. Preparations are already underway," said the official, who is on an India visit. Roh said India is an important manufacturing base for the company, and it has received support at various levels from the state and central governments.
