Tripura Labour Minister Tinku Roy on Thursday claimed that 20,000 people have been recruited in various government departments in the last three years. During a discussion on the unemployment issue initiated by Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, the minister said 20,000 people have been recruited in different categories -- regular scale, contractual and fixed pay -- in the government sector in the last three years. The minister said the process has already begun to fill up 20,000 more posts in various government departments. He claimed that the number of registered unemployed youths has reduced from 7,41,305 on March 31, 2018 to 3,09,882 on March 31, 2024. "It is not true that job aspirants are frustrated... The number of registered unemployed across the state has reduced by almost double from 2018 to 2024 due to all-out efforts to address the issue," he said. Odisha CM Majhi announces Rs 10 cr aid for calamity-hit Kerala, Tripura

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday announced a grant of Rs 5 crore each for Kerala and Tripura to support recovery efforts following natural disasters in both states. Govt to sign peace pact with two insurgent groups of Tripura on Wednesday

An agreement will be signed between the central and Tripura governments and two insurgent groups of Tripura here on Wednesday, in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, to end violence and bringing "lasting peace" in the Northeastern state. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each of those who lost their lives in the recent flood in the northeastern state. Tripura floods: Over 53K people still taking shelter in relief camps

Thirty-one people have lost their lives, 2 injured and 1 person is missing in the recent floods caused by continuous rainfall from August 19 to 23 in Tripura, the state government said on Wednesday.According to the state government, 53,356 people are still in the relief camps across the state."As of date, 369 relief camps are operational by the district administration, providing shelter to over 53,356 people in the state. Tripura flood: Death toll rises to 31, central team to arrive on Wednesday

Five more people died in the flood in Tripura taking the total death toll to 31, said an official on Tuesday. An inter-ministerial team led by Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs B C Joshi will be reaching the state on Wednesday to assess the loss caused by the deluge, Chief Minister Manik Saha said. As many as 72,000 people are still in 492 relief camps as their houses were washed away in the floods, Secretary of Revenue Department Birjesh Pandey told a press conference. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday said the Centre will send a team to the state to assess the damage caused by the floods. At least 26 people died as the floods devastated the state.
