Dalhousie received 48 mm rains, followed by 32 mm in Chamba, 26 mm in Seobagh, 25 mm in Reckong Peo, 24 mm in Kufri, 21 mm in Bhuntar, 20 mm in Bharmaur, 16 mm in Dharamshala and Shimla,14 mm in Solan and 13 mm in Nahan and Kasauli. Keylong was coldest in the region with a low of minus 3.0 degrees Celsius while Kalpa and Manali recorded minimum temperatures at minus 1.8 degrees Celsius and 1.0 degrees Celsius respectively. A MeT Department official said the relative humidity was 77 per cent. The minimum temperature was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius and the weatherman forecast clear skies with the maximum temperature hovering around 31 degrees, the official said.

Minimum temperatures soared several notches above normal in Punjab and Haryana even as light rains lashed a few places in both the states today. Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, received 0.7 mm rain in the morning with the minimum settling at 17.2 degrees Celsius, eight notches above normal. The city and its surrounding areas were lashed by hail around 10.20 am, an official of the MeT department said. In Haryana, Ambala received 0.2 mm rain while the minimum temperature was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius, seven notches above normal. Gulmarg resort and other areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall today, while the plains were lashed by rains. The wet-spell is likely to continue till tomorrow, an official of the Meteorological (MeT) Department said here. He said about half-an-inch of snowfall was recorded in the resort till 8:30 am. The official said while there are reports of snowfall in other areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir as well, the plains of the Valley were lashed by rains. The plains across the Valley have received rainfall, which was going on till last reports came in, he said. The official said there is likelihood of snowfall at widespread places in the higher reaches of Kashmir, while the plains would witness rainfall. There is also a possibility of light rain, in plains, or snowfall, in higher reaches, at scattered places in Kashmir tomorrow, the official said.
Light rain in the plains and snowfall in the higher reaches occurred in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The Met said the weather will improve Sunday onwards.

The minimum temperatures hovered close to normal level at most places in Punjab and Haryana today. Union Territory Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a low of 12.1 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological Department official said here. In Punjab, Amritsar's minimum settled at 10.3 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their respective minimums at 11.8 and 13.2 degrees Celsius. Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Bathinda recorded their lows at 13.2 degrees Celsius, 10.5 degrees Celsius and 10.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. In Haryana, the minimum temperatures in Ambala, Hisar and Bhiwani settled at 12 degrees Celsius, 12.9 degrees Celsius and 15.2 degrees Celsius, respectively. Karnal recorded a low of 12 degrees Celsius, while respective minimums at Rohtak and Narnaul settled at 15.7 degrees Celsius and 14.8 degrees Celsius.
