The West Bengal government on Friday said it is revamping its industry-focused single window portal Shilpasathi' for a truly 24x7 service and it is likely to be launched within two months. The new portal will have more features to facilitate greater ease of doing business, state industry Minister Shashi Panja said. The Shilpasathi' portal had been in place for business and industry as a single point of contact for some time and now it is being rebuilt. "The Revamped Shilpasathi portal is expected to be launched by December. This will improve existing services for greater ease of doing business," Panja said at the 191st AGM of the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce. She said that the state is working towards framing a state logistics policy. Logistics is a highly prospective sector that can attract huge investment in the state. The West Bengal government is planning to start a mobile exhibition on cyber security to make people aware of how to keep their computers, cell phones and other such devices safe from malicious attackers, an official said on Friday. The police and information technology (IT) departments are working together on the project in which posters and models on cyber security will be displayed in a large vehicle which will travel to various areas. "The Kolkata Police has made a proposal for a cyber security van. It will be executed after getting the approval of the government," state IT Joint Secretary Sanjay Kumar Das told reporters on the sidelines of Cyber Security Congress, a seminar organised here. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the daughter of arrested TMC leader Anubrata Mondal, and his chartered accountant to its Delhi office on November 2 for their questioning in connection with the agency's probe into cattle smuggling in Bengal. The two might be questioned together by ED detectives, an agency official said on Friday. "We have asked Anubrata Mondal's daughter Sukanya Mondal and his CA Manish Kothari to appear at our New Delhi office next Wednesday. We have plans to question them together," he said. The southern part of Kolkata has contributed 86 per cent of the total number of dengue cases reported from the metropolis in the last one week, as per official data. Data released by the West Bengal Health Department showed that out of the 596 dengue cases reported from the entire metropolitan area in the past seven days, south Kolkata accounted for 512. A Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) official said two boroughs covering the areas of Kasba, Jadavpur and Tollygunge in the south have logged the most number of dengue infections this year. Kolkata has seen over 3,500 dengue cases till the last week of October, and almost half of those were reported in the last two weeks, the official said. Cyclone Sitrang crossed the Bangladesh coast near Barisal after skirting the West Bengal coast, the IMD said on Tuesday. The weather in the southern West Bengal districts is likely to improve from forenoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The system, which moved towards Bangladesh from north Bay of Bengal at a speed of 56 kmph caused moderate to heavy rain and squally weather in West Bengal's coastal districts of South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas and Purba Medinipur, dampening festive spirits on Deepavali and Kali Puja. Sitrang made landfall between Tinkona island and Sandwip near Barisal in Bangladesh between 9.30 pm and 11.30 pm on Monday with a sustained wind speed of 80 to 90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph, the Regional Met Centre in Kolkata said. Chaudhuri, who was 82, left behind his wife and a son. He was suffering from lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, and was admitted to a hospital one month back. He was discharged three days ago as the hospital authorities suggested that he be taken back to his residence in the last days of life.
