Some people have shown symptoms of COVID-19 after attending religious gathering in March at Markaz in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi. All those, who went for the Markaz prayers in Delhi need to inform authorities. Government will conduct tests and offer free treatment.

Study links salt-rich diet to weaker immune system

New Delhi, Mar 31 (ANI): Opting for a high-salt diet can not only be problematic for one's blood pressure, but also for the immune system, suggests a recent study. The research was conducted on mice that were fed a high-salt diet. Later, they were found to suffer from much more severe bacterial infections. Human volunteers who consumed an additional six grams of salt per day showed pronounced immune deficiencies. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended a maximum amount of five grams of salt a day. Sodium chloride also appears to have a negative effect on the human immune system. In human volunteers, excessive salt intake also resulted in increased glucocorticoid levels.

Cylinders were also disinfected during the process. Keeping in mind the current situation, social distance was maintained during the process.

COVID-19 lockdown: Assam Police helps Kashmiris stranded in Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam), Mar 31 (ANI): Assam Police is assisting 13 Kashmiris stuck in Guwahati due to lockdown. A resident of Jammu and Kashmir, Shaukat said, "We were in Guwahati for an expo which ended on March 21. We have been given ration by Assam Police as we are stuck. I am thankful to Police for helping us."

Haridwar (UP), Mar 30 (ANI): Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on March 30 announced that herbal products company Patanjali will contribute Rs 25 crore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's PM CARES Fund. Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund is a public charitable trust set up by PM Modi in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Nationwide lockdown: BSNL's prepaid sims not to be discontinued till April 20, informs RS Prasad

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on March 30 informed that prepaid sims of BSNL will not be discontinued till April 20 amid nationwide lockdown and the user will get Rs 10 incentive for uninterrupted services. "Prepaid sims of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will not be discontinued till 20th April. For outgoing calls, a Rs 10 incentive has been provided automatically from today, so that poor people and needy people continue to work," said Prasad after TRAI asked telecom operators to extend validity period of prepaid users to get uninterrupted services during nationwide lockdown.

Similarly, a team of Pune Police's Dattawadi Police Station sang a song to give knowledge about deadly disease. Total number of coronavirus cases in Pune is 32 and total number of cases in Maharashtra is 215.

However, there are not using sanitizers or masks particularly but are following traditional methods to avoid the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). In Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram, the villagers used powder of neem leaves and turmeric water for disinfecting streets and roads. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in India rose to 1,071 (including 942 active cases, 99 cured/discharged cases and 29 deaths).

New Delhi, Mar 30 (ANI): Delhi Police are providing essential items to senior citizens in Delhi's Greater Kailash area amid the nationwide lockdown in the wake of cornavirus. In the recent event, SHO of Greater Kailash Som Nath Paruthi helped senior citizens, whose children are NRIs, with food, medicines and other essential items. "My children stay in United States. It's only my wife and I who stay here. We are patients of diabetes and blood pressure, so we don't go out during lockdown. As we needed few essential items, we called the SHO and soon after we received the items. Delhi Police is supporting us a lot," said R Bhasin.

A Malaysian Citizen told that they were stranded Punjab due to suspension of international flights due to nationwide lockdown in the wake of pandemic coronavirus. "I thank Malaysian government and government of India for sending the flight to rescue us," said the Malaysian citizen. Most of the Malaysian citizens are Indian-origins, who came here to travel religious places. Migrants from Etawah quarantine in schools post return from neighbouring states

Etawah (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 30 (ANI): Migrant workers who have returned to the various villages of UP's Etawah district from Delhi and other places, are being quarantined at the local primary schools and junior schools which have been turned into quarantine centres. District Magistrate Jitendra Bahadur Singh said, "People were returning in large numbers so it was difficult to determine who all have been tested. So we sought a list of all such people from all village heads. Then they were put under quarantine. They'll be sent home if they don't show any symptom."
