New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on April 1 took a review meeting with government hospital doctors and medical staff via a video conference. While interacting with them, Kejriwal announced ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore for the family of nurses, doctors if they lost their lives while serving COVID-19 patients. "If anyone loses their life while serving #COVID19 patients, whether sanitation workers, doctors or nurses, their family will be provided Rs 1 crore as respect to their service. Whether they are from private or government sector doesn't matter," he said.
Hyderabad, Apr 01 (ANI): Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender on April 1 briefed about the people who came back after attending the Markaz in Delhi. He said that people who had attended Markaz in Delhi found positive in past three days. "Around 1,200 people from Telangana had attended Markaz gathering in Delhi, some of them were found #COVID19 positive, six of them died. In the last three days only those who had gone to Delhi for Markaz have tested positive for COVID19," said Rajender. Markaz in Nizamuddin gathered attention after several people tested positive of COVID-19 after attending a religious event there.

Patna (Bihar), Apr 01 (ANI): Bihar Police started monitoring of 86 residents and 57 foreigners who had attended Markaz in Delhi's Nizamuddin. "Some of 86 Bihar residents are not in the state but other parts of country; we are coordinating with other states to trace them, 48 people have been quarantined already," said Bihar DGP's Gupteshwar Pandey. Ludhiana (Punjab), Apr 01 (ANI): To keep a check on curfew violators amid coronavirus lockdown, Ludhiana Police has set up four temporary jails to lodge curfew violators in Ludhiana. "Yesterday, we sent 200 people to these jails and released them in the evening after they gave written apologies," said Police Commissioner of Ludhiana Rakesh Agrawal. Almost 6000 people can be lodged in these jails. Police said it will take strict action against the regular violators.
Patna (Bihar), Apr 01 (ANI): While speaking to media in Patna on April 01, the Principal Secretary of Bihar Health Department, Sanjay Kumar, said, "23 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Bihar till today (April 01) morning. State government has decided to test all the people who have returned from abroad after March 18, because we have found that even those who had no symptoms have tested positive."

While talking to ANI, over Delhi's Tablighi Nizamuddin event, where the Tablighi Jamaat held a congregation, Sisodia said, "2,361 people were brought out from there (Markaz, Nizamuddin) out of which 617, who had symptoms have been taken to hospitals, others have been quarantined." The Deputy Chief Minister also thanked all those who participated in this 36 hour operation and risked their lives. The minister also urged all participants of the event to go under coronavirus test otherwise government will take strict action.

At 10:15 am, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 782 points or 2.65 per cent to 28,686 while the Nifty 50 edged lower by 206 points or 2.39 per cent at 8,392. Except for Nifty FMCG and realty, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the negative terrain with Nifty private bank down by 2.6 per cent, financial service by 2.4 per cent, auto by 1.9 per cent and IT by 1.8 per cent.

Nagpur (Maharashtra), Apr 01 (ANI): The nation entered the eighth day of nationwide lockdown, in the wake of pandemic coronavirus. Amid this humanitarian disaster, the migrant laboures are facing the shakeout. One of the labourers who is staying at Nagpur Municipal Corporation's home shelter in Maharashtra said, "The food is so bad that even the dog will not eat it." The labourers said the authorities are giving them inedible food in the home shelter. The labourers also said the home shelter manager is not following the social distancing norms properly, as 20 to 25 men are staying in one room. Nagpur Municipal Corporation has converted a High School into a shelter home to temporarily house the migrant labourers. However, the care taker of the home shelter has denied all the allegations.

Locals were seen buying essential commodities at Dadar vegetable market in Mumbai. They also violated norms of social distancing while purchasing vegetables and fruits. 16 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mumbai and two more cases have been reported in Pune, taking the total number of cases in the state to 320. Total 12 people have died due to COVID-19 in Maharashtra till now. New Delhi, Apr 01 (ANI): Migrant workers waited outside Sarvodaya Co-education Senior Secondary School in Delhi's Patparganj on April 01 amid coronavirus lockdown. They claimed that they are not allowed to enter the school as it is full. The school was converted into a temporary shelter home to accommodate homeless and migrant workers. While speaking to ANI, a resident of Haryana's Palwal, Sahil Khan, said, "We have been told that this shelter home is full. They are trying to shift us to another shelter home."
