New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Keeping in view of coronavirus, Air India is sending a 'special' flight to China on January 31. Atleast 400 Indians will be evacuated today from Wuhan in China. Speaking on it CMD of Air India, Ashwani Lohani said, "Air India has always come forward for the nation. Atleast 400 Indians will be evacuated today from Wuhan in China by Air India flight. It will take off at 12 pm today and will return by 2 am tomorrow. Further arrangements will be done by MEA and Health Ministry for passengers after they will reach India."

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were in the green during early hours on January 31 amid positive global cues while investors awaited key macroeconomic data to be announced in the Economic Survey. At 10:15 am, the BSE SandP Sensex was up by 89 points to 41,003 while the Nifty 50 ticked up by 8 points at 12,044. Most sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green except for Nifty IT and metal which slipped marginally. Among stocks, Kotak Mahindra Bank gained by 3.7 per cent at Rs 1,688.35 per share. IndusInd Bank and Yes Bank too moved up by 2.2 per cent and 1.5 per cent respectively. The other prominent gainers were Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra and Mahindra, Bharti Infratel and Britannia. However, Tata Motors dropped by 3.8 per cent after company's consolidated net profit for the December quarter stood at Rs 1,738 crore against a loss of Rs 26,993 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Ahead of the commencement of the Budget Session, copies of Economic Survey 2019-20 reached the Parliament complex on January 31. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present it later today. Sitharaman will present her second Union Budget on Saturday. The Budget Session will commence with an address by President Ram Nath Kovind to a joint sitting of the two Houses of Parliament. President Kovind will deliver a speech in the Central Hall of Parliament at 11 am. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will also chair a meeting of floor leaders of Rajya Sabha at his residence today. The first phase of the session will conclude on February 11, while the second part of the session will begin from March 2 and will end on April 3.
Jammu, Jan 31 (ANI): Truck bound terrorists fired on police which triggered an encounter at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Jan 31. Three terrorists have been killed in the encounter. The encounter is underway and more details are awaited. Giving details on the encounter, Inspector General of Jammu Police, Mukesh Singh said, "Around 5 am, police stopped a truck for checking, the militants hidden inside started shooting. One police personnel was also injured. He is shifted to hospital. Area has been cordoned off and search operation is on."

He said, "The women sitting on protests have no work and a probe is needed to find out the source of funding of these protests." "As far as people like Sharjeel Imam who talk of breaking India are concerned, such people should be shot dead publicly," Sangeet Som added.
Mohali (Punjab), Jan 31 (ANI): A student from Chandigarh University came up with a unique idea to help specially-abled people to communicate. Sarthak invented a microcontroller based 'magical' gloves for those people who can't speak or hear. These gloves can be connected to an android app. By using these battery operated gloves, one can send customized messages to their dear ones. The special thing about these gloves is that with the help of two fingers one can send distress signal for help to the loved ones. "These gloves can be built in around 300 rupees and one won't be in need to write their messages on paper," Sarthak told ANI.

Dhenkanal (Odisha), Jan 31 (ANI): One elephant died and another was seriously injured after the two were hit by a speeding truck in Odisha's Dhenkanal district. They were being hit on National Highway-55 in Dhenkanal on January 30. The truck driver is absconding in the incident. The mishap occurred when a herd of elephants was crossing the national highway. The injured elephant ran away into the forest after being hit by the truck. Movement of vehicular traffic was disrupted on NH-55 as several vehicles remained stranded on both sides as hundreds of people gathered at the spot.
