Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Jan 23 (ANI): After RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat claimed that all 130 crore born in India are Hindus, Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on January 23 "questioned" former's claim by raising doubts on the identity of Hindus born in foreign countries. He said, "Workers of RSS say all residents of Hindustan are Hindus. Going by this logic, what is the identity of Hindus born in America, Africa and other countries?" He further added, "People say I'm inclined to Muslims. I'm neither inclined to Muslims, nor Hindus. I am inclined to India. My strength comes from unity in the diversity of this country. I'm an Indian first then Hindu or whatever."

CM Kejriwal filed nomination for New Delhi constituency on January 21. Delhi Assembly elections will be held on 8 February and the results will be declared on 11 Feb.
New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs on January 23 announced that anybody coming to India from China will have to go through the screening process for coronavirus outbreak. MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that advisory has been issued by Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and India's consulates in China. He said, "People coming from China will have to go through screening process (at airports). As far as protecting oneself while living in China is concerned, our Missions have made an effort for this there. But if you come to India you will have to go through the screening process." India screened 43 flights arriving from China at 7 different airports so far, secretary at Union Health Ministry informed on January 23.
New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): Speaking ahead of the Repulbic Day parade, Major General Alok Kacker said that there will be0 no separate contingents for women in the parade, however they will be taking part in all the marching contingents. "Women taking part in all marching contingents, but there are no separate contingents for women in the parade," said Republic Day Parade Deputy Commander Major General Alok Kacker. Republic Day Parade will have 16 Marching contingents from Army, Navy, Air Force, Paramilitary forces, coast guard, central arm unit forces, Delhi police, National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS).

New Delhi, Jan 23 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar on US President Donald Trump raising Kashmir issue again, stated that there is no role for any third party in the matter. If there is any bilateral issue between India and Pakistan, it has to be discussed by both the countries under several provisions. "Our position on the Kashmir issue and third party mediation has been very clear and consistent. Let me reiterate that there is no role for any third party in this matter. If there are any bilateral issues between India and Pakistan that needs to be discussed, it should be done between the 2 countries under provisions of Shimla Agreement and Lahore Declaration. But onus is on Pak to create such conducive conditions - free from terror, hostility and violence," said Raveesh.

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Jan 23 (ANI): Calling the expression of dissent a "right", Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot on January 23 announced that the state government will bring a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to lodge criticism against the law. "Everyone has the right to express their dissent. Our government will also bring a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act in the State Assembly," Pilot told reporters during a press conference in Jaipur.

"I welcome Nitish Kumar's statement that there is space and need for discussion within party, as that is what I asked for that we need to have ideological clarity before we take further decisions expanding the alliance with the BJP. It was never my intention to hurt him. I want party to have ideological clarity on issues. Party like JD(U) should clarify its position on many subjects. I am awaiting reply to my letter, if I don't receive a reply I will decide future course of action. I thank Nitish Kumar for his good wishes for me," said Pavan Varma after CM Nitish Kumar's dare that the former can join any party he likes.
Kota (Rajasthan), Jan 23 (ANI): A woman called Naziran Bano, who went to conduct survey regarding Economic Census 2019-20, says she was manhandled by the people in Rajasthan's Kota on Jan 22 after getting mistaken for CAA official. People who manhandled her alleged that the survey was for Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). While speaking to media persons, Bano said, "They snatched my phone and deleted mobile application containing data entry of about 1000 households".
Guwahati (Assam), Jan 23 (ANI): 644 cadres of eight militant groups of Assam, surrendered at the Arms Laying Down Ceremony in Guwahati on January 23. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was present in the event. Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said, "Total number of 177 weapons being laid down. And these people (who surrendered) are going to be helped for their rehabilitation."

Amritsar (Punjab), Jan 23(ANI): Ahead of 71st Republic Day, a government school teacher from Amritsar prepared a national flag out of toothpicks. Baljinder Singh took around 40 days to complete the task. Approximately 71,000 toothpicks were used to create the national flag. He showcased his creativity by arranging all the toothpicks together and later painting tri-color on them.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will be visiting India as the chief guest on Republic Day 2020.
Amaravati (AP), Jan 23 (ANI): TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on protests against decentralization bill (3 capitals) asserted that people want development and not politics. "It is a people's agitation, nobody wants to move administration from here (Amaravati).I started several development projects during my time, but why you cancelled? People want development and not politics," said Chandrababu Naidu. The bill proposes to have a legislative capital at Amaravati, executive capital and Raj Bhavan at Vishakhapatnam and judicial capital at Kurnool.
Surat (Gujarat), Jan 23 (ANI): A differently-abled man from Surat makes electric bikes using waste materials. "Using waste materials from here and there, I make these electric bikes. I manage and use these materials as essential parts and develop such bikes," said Vishnu Patel. Since these bikes are battery-operated, they do not contribute to environmental pollution.
