Satna (Madhya Pradesh), Jul 23 (ANI): A woman was burnt alive in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh over the issue of land dispute. She belonged to a Dalit community. The incident took place after a government official was inspecting the disputed place, and a quarrel between the two parties led to the unfortunate incident. Police has registered the case and has initiated enquiry into the incident.

Drass (J-K), Jul 23 (ANI): Preparations are in full swing to celebrate the anniversary of the 20th Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26. Located on the Srinagar-Leh national highway, the Drass War Memorial was built in 2014 by the Indian Army to commemorate the sacrifices of the soldiers who fought the Kargil war. On July 26 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts in Kargil which had been captured by Pakistani intruders. Memorial is situated at a staggering altitude of 15,000 feet above sea level.

Brigadier (Retd.) D.S. Dhillon said that Indian Sikhs, who have been living there for past many years and have little idea of the ground situation in India, are consistently being fed with anti-India propaganda. He accused Pakistan of constantly hatching plots to malign India. Gurugram(Haryana), July 23 (ANI): Bharat Vikas Parishad used drones to scatter and palnt abour 1 crore seeds in Aravalli region of Gurugram. The initiative promotes environmental awareness in south Haryana. Seeds of trees like Neem, Peepal, Jaanum and Rosewood were spread through drones, kites and the catapult for the first time in Aravalli hills. The seeds were spread. Madhubani (Bihar), July 23 (ANI): Several people are badly affected by the floods in the state of Bihar. Houses in Naruar village of Bihar's Madhubani district faced wrath of flood. Villages in Bihar have been flooded following incessant downpour since weeks. Meanwhile, priest of a temple drowned in order to protect idol of god in flood water. The flood situation in Bihar has worsened, with lakhs of people displaced and many humans and animals are dead. Districts reporting maximum casualties are Madhubani, Araria, Sheohar and Darbhanga. While speaking to ANI, one of the student Jairam Yadav said, "All my books were swept away by water, I was preparing for exams but I don't have any books left now. My house has been collapsed and I don't know how I will be able to study now."

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 23 (ANI): A woman threw her 3-month-old son from the fourth floor of hospital resulting in the death of the child. Reportedly, she was tired of her child's illness. An FIR has been registered against the woman by her husband. Police official said, "A woman threw her son from the fourth floor resulting in the death of the child. We are evaluating the CCTV footage. Investigation in the matter is underway. The husband has registered an FIR against the woman."
New Delhi, Jul 23 (ANI): A number of students' unions including the All India Students Association (AISA) and Students' Federation of India (SFI) today took out a march to the premises of Delhi University to protest against the alleged interference of RSS in the varsity's syllabus. The protesting students, who were accompanied by the DU Teachers Association, called their march an attempt to save academic freedom. "ABVP and RSS want to color the syllabus of DU with their ideology. They don't want the students to learn different things and question what they study. We are saying that a university is a place where students should get space to learn different ideologies and get to debate, and if such space doesn't exist, you're attacking on the minds of the students," said Deepak who studies at DU. ABVP has called the march unfortunate.
Chennai, July 23(ANI): A 50-wagon train carrying 5 MLD (Millions of Liters Per Day) water from Jolarpet in Vellore reached in Chennai on Tuesday. The state government had announced to bring in water from Vellore by rail wagon as Chennai is facing acute water crisis. As per the announcement by Tamil Naidu CM, logistics and ground check have been done to bring water from Jolarpet to Chennai by train.

Giridih (Jharkhand), Jul 23 (ANI): Jharkhand Police arrested four people on the charges of forcing two men and a woman consuming urine in the name of witchcraft in Giridh district. One accused is still on the run. The arrested include two man and two women while one man is still to be arrested, and all five are accused of beating the three victims, whom the accused termed demons, and making them drink urine and human feces in Jhanjhri Mohalla.
