New Delhi, Jul 14 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lit the 'Victory Flame' from National War Memorial on Sunday. The flame will traverse through 11 towns and cities to finally culminate at Drass, where the flame will be merged with the eternal flame at the 'Kargil War Memorial'.

Heavy Rain hits normal life in North Bengal

Jalpaiguri (WB) July 14 (ANI): Locals of Jalpaiguri's Netaji Para area are left at lurch after flood water entered their houses. Darjeeling, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri of North Bengal are heavily affected by continues rainfall. Major Rivers of the state are flowing above the danger level. Karala river, the lifeline of Jalpaiguri district also submerged many houses and temporary markets. As a result, affected people are taking shelters on the upper sides. According to the Irrigation and Waterways Department, in the past 24 hours, Jalpaiguri district have received 154.60mm, Cooch Behar 197.40mm, Siliguri 97mm of rainfall.

Floods wreak havoc in Assam, affects normal life

Morigaon (Assam)/ Darrang (Assam), July 14 (ANI): Flood water entered houses, affecting the normal life in several parts of Assam. Due to incessant rainfall, several districts in Assam are affected. Situation is causing immense inconvenience to residents in the area. Commuters are finding it difficult to travel as some of the roads have been damaged. Parts of roads have also been washed away as water from Brahmaputra River entered Morigaon in Assam.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), July 14 (ANI): India is to launch his most complex lunar mission 'Chandrayaan 2', in some hours, former chief of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) G Madhavan Nair said 'Chandrayaan 2' is India's most complex mission undertakes by the country. While taking to ANI, G Madhavan Nair said, "'Chandrayaan 2' is going to be the most complex mission that ISRO has undertaken so far. Kartarpur Corridor: Pakistan assured that no anti-India activity will be allowed, says SCL Das

Attari (Punjab), July 14 (ANI): Bilateral meeting between India and Pakistan on Kartarpur Corridor concluded today. While speaking on this issue, Joint secretary (Internal Security) at MHA, SCL Das said that we have several concerns regarding individual or organisation which are based in Pakistan who may try to disrupt the pilgrimage, Pakistan side has assured our delegation in response to the request made that no anti-India activity will be allowed by them. "We have assured the importance of insuring safe and secure environment for the pilgrims, we have several concerns regarding individual or organisation which are based in Pakistan who may try to disrupt the pilgrimage and misuse the opportunity to play with the sentiment of pilgrims. Pakistan side has assured our delegation in response to the request made that no anti-India activity will be allowed by them."

Watch: Leopard rescued from well in Pune

Pune (Maharashtra), Jul 14 (ANI): A leopard was rescued by Shirur Range Rescue team and Wildlife SOS in Maharashtra's Pune district today. The leopard fell into a well in Fakte village of Shirur Taluka. The leopard was later shifted to Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre in Junnar for treatment.

IIT Kanpur develops mapping generation software for ISRO's 'Chandrayaan- 2'

Kanpur (UP), July 14 (ANI): As the countdown has begun for 'Chandrayaan 2', the country's second Chandrayaan mission, IIT Kanpur has developed mapping generation software for Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The premier institute has developed a motion planning and mapping generation software that will help ISRO's rover in its movement and will guide its route on the lunar surface. The software has been developed by Prof Ashish Datta of the Mechanical Engineering Department and Prof KS Venkatesh of Electrical Engineering wing of IIT Kanpur. This mission will shed light on completely unexplored South Polar Region of the moon. The whole world is looking forward to this mission.

Navjot Singh Sidhu quits as Punjab Minister

New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): Today, Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as minister from the Punjab cabinet. Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted copy of his resignation letter, states, "My letter to the Congress President Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji, submitted on 10 June 2019." Siddhu was stripped of the portfolios of local governments and tourism and culture on June 06. While speaking to ANI on this issue, BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said, "Sidhu was showing distrust on our Army. Karnataka political crisis: BS Yeddyurappa asks CM Kumaraswamy to resign immediately
