Satara (Maharashtra), July 06 (ANI): Bhilar, a village of books, has a library set up in almost all the houses of the village in Maharashtra's Satara. It is an initiative by Maharashtra government. The project was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis on May 04 that aimed to foster and encourage a culture of reading. Visitors come here and enjoy the reading session. Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh), July 06 (ANI): Spiritual leader Dalai Lama attended a long life prayer ceremony organised for him by the former staff members of the Tibetan government in-exile at Buddhist temple Tsuglagkhang here on Friday, ahead of his 84th birthday. Led by the monks of Namgyal Monastery, the prayer ceremony was attended by around 3000 Tibetans including nuns, schools students, monks, and foreign nationals. "This long life prayer ceremony has been organised by all the retired CTA (Central Tibetan Administration) officers who have been working here since 1959," said professor Samdhong Rinpoche, former Prime Minister-in-exile. "About three hundred people (of the CTA) have organised this prayer for his holiness the Dalai Lama. Some of them are aged above 90 or even 100" he added. Deogarh (Odisha), July 06 (ANI): A woman was killed while two others sustained injuries after a group of women allegedly attack them to vacate the government land that they were staying on here Deogarh on Friday, police said. A group of women attacked the family to vacate government land for construction of'Mousi Maa' temple. The injured were rushed to Burla Medical College for medical treatment. As per reports of Police, no arrest has been made so far, but efforts are on to nab the accused. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
New Delhi, Jul 6 (ANI): You will be able to soon manually face tag in Google Photos thanks to an upcoming feature. In a direct feedback session on Twitter, Google Photos product lead David Lieb confirmed that the new feature to manually tag a face is on the roadmap, Android Police reports. In addition to manual face tagging, Google Photos is also planning to add search parameter and edit timestamps on mobile, delete option while browsing albums, and pet photo sharing to partner libraries.

Mumbai, Jul 06 (ANI): Late post graduate medical student from Mumbai, Payal Tadvi had left behind a handwritten note before committing suicide on May 22. However, the note went missing. Recently, the photographs of the pages were retrieved the by Forensic Department. Advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte, appearing for Dr Payal Tadvi who committed suicide on May 22 said, "Today it has been proved that 3 accused were aware of suicide note and tried to destroy it. Forensic Department confirmed that screenshot of the note has been recovered from the phone." He added, "The suicide note not only mentions about the casteist abuses but also names the three senior women doctors arrested in the case. Police have initiated action under section 201 (destruction of evidence) of India Penal Code."
Kanpur (UP), Jul 06 (ANI): A woman and her granddaughter were shot dead by unidentified assailants in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur. The incident occurred at Kanpur's Chakeri area. New Delhi, Jul 06 (ANI): A recent research may enable doctors to use the genetic profiles of patients to predict with great accuracy which treatment and prevention protocols will work for them, but requires greater inclusion of ethnic minorities as well. Sandra Soo-Jin Lee, an anthropologist, and bioethicist said that to improve medical care researchers need more data about the individual differences that make each of us unique. "Without engaging underrepresented communities in genetic studies, efforts to move precision science forward may recapitulate ongoing inequities in health care and limit and bias the research. The early stages of precision medicine offer a critical window in which to intervene before research practices and their consequences become locked in," Lee said in the study which was published in the journal of Science. Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jul 06 (ANI): A man was arrested for vandalising Hanuman temple in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar. While speaking to ANI, Ashish Pratap, Circle Officer Khatoli, said, "Incident happened on the morning of July 4. Man punched those present and made objectionable comments. New Delhi, July 05 (ANI): Days ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Chief of Indian Army General Bipin Rawat, on Friday, said that it is unlikely that Pakistan would dare to carry out a Kargil-like misadventure again. Rawat said in response to a question on whether Pakistan can attempt a Kargil-like infiltration. He further added, "There is no such area that we have left unguarded. Our surveillance team is keeping a tight watch and regularly patrolling the areas." Chennai, July 05 (ANI): A special court sentenced Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) chief Vaiko to imprisonment for one year in a 2009 sedition case and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him. After the judgement, Vaiko told reporters that he would be happy to get more jail terms. He said, "I will do the same, I will speak the same, I will face the consequences".The case relates to Vaiko's speech in 2009 during a book launch when the Sri Lankan civil war was at its peak. In his speech, Vaiko said he was in support of The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
