Citizenship Act, NRC are against poor, they will be most affected: Priyanka Gandhi

New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined a protest at India Gate in Delhi. While taking about Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 and NRC, Gandhi said, "Citizenship Act and NRC are against the poor. The poor they will be most affected by it. What will the daily wage labourers do? Demonstrations should be held peacefully."

New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): While talking about the protest at Jama Masjid that turned violent, Delhi Police PRO MS Randhawa said, "Protest going on since morning was peaceful. Around 6.30 pm, some outsiders came here and started pelting stones. We used water cannon. People were pushed back. Some policemen received injuries. Some people have been detained". Protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 got violent in Delhi on December 20. A car was also set on fire during the protest near Jama Masjid area.

Bhim Army chief detained by Delhi Police from Jama Masjid

New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad was detained by police from Jama Masjid during wee hours of December 21. Azad escaped police on December 20 at Jama Masjid amid massive anti-CAA protest as his supporters escorted him out of the spot. He was earlier denied permission to hold a protest march from Jama Masjid to Jantar Mantar.

New Delhi, Dec 20 (ANI): The Delhi Police on December 20 conducted a flag march in Seelampur area where violent protests had broken out on Dec 17. 10 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in sensitive areas here. Speaking on this, Delhi's Northeast DCP VP Surya said, "There is peace in area today. 10 companies of paramilitary forces deployed and 1500 other security personnel also present in the sensitive areas here. Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Senger sentenced for life in Unnao rape case

New Delhi, Dec 20 (ANI): Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was awarded life imprisonment by Delhi's Tis Hazari Court in the 2017 Unnao rape case. The court ordered Kuldeep Sengar to pay a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh to the victim. The Court also directed CBI to assess threat perception and offer the necessary protection to the victim and her family.

Speaking at the session, PM Modi said, "5-6 years back, our economy was heading towards disaster. Our government has not only stabilized it, but also made efforts to bring discipline to it. New Delhi, Dec 20 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 20 attended the inaugural session of '100 years of ASSOCHAM' in Delhi where he assured banking sector and corporate sector that earlier weaknesses have been controlled and advised them to take decisions, invest and spend without any hesitation. In the conference, PM Modi said, "For bringing transparency, efficiency and accountability, we are moving towards faceless tax administration." He also said, "I today want to assure those associated with banking sector and corporate sector that we have been to an extent successful in controlling the earlier weaknesses. So, take decisions, invest and spend without any hesitation." Further on FDI, PM Modi said, "FDI inflow has increased in India in last few years and I have two meanings of FDI.
