Cooling operation is underway, they'll continue for some more time, the staff will be here to monitor that. No casualty has been reported." Earlier in the day, Massive fire broke out in PC block (a non-patient block) of AIIMS. The affected area is near the emergency ward on the 2nd floor. Patients are being shifted from AB ward (Orthopaedic Unit).
Chandigarh, Aug 18 (ANI): Many students even today can't buy books due to the financial condition of their families. Chandigarh's Sandeep Kumar has come forward to help these students. He has collected about 10,000 books in the last two years. Sandeep also wants other people to come forward for this social cause and help the poor children to educate them. The people who come to Sandeep for books have appreciated his move. In their view, he is serving the society for the betterment of budding students, who can't afford to buy books and stationery items. The scientists believe their research could aid efforts to develop treatments for a serious eating disorder called anorexia nervosa, which has the highest mortality rate of any mental disorder, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. People with anorexia nervosa avoid food, severely restrict food, or eat very small quantities of only certain foods. Even when they are dangerously underweight, they may see themselves as overweight. Indore/ Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 17 (ANI): 11 patients lost their eye sight after undergoing operation for cataract at Indore Eye Hospital. Treatment of all 11 patients has begun. Administration has been ordered to submit a report in 72 hours. Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Tulsi Silavat said, "Patients will be given best treatment. I've ordered to cancel the license of the hospital. Patients will be provided compensation of Rs 20,000. FIR to be registered against those found guilty of negligence. A seven-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter."

Darjeeling (West Bengal), Aug 17 (ANI): A four-year-old dog lived up to his name by putting up a valiant fight to save his owner in West Bengal's Darjeeling. 'Tiger' saved his 58-year-old owner from leopard attack on August 14. Aruna Lama who is a resident of Sonada town in Darjeeling district opened the door of her storeroom and saw a leopard over there. In utter panic she tried shutting the door and could feel sharp claws of leopard attacking her. As she struggled to set herself free, 'Tiger' jumped to help her. While speaking to ANI, Aruna Lama's daughter said, "As my mother was making her way to ground floor of our house she noticed a pair of glowing eyes, then the leopard attacked her but Tiger (pet dog) saved my mother." The only casualty in the conflict was a chicken. 'Tiger' is a cross breed between Tibetan mastiff and a mongrel.
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Aug 17 (ANI): After 14-odd years, a rosy pelican hatched a young one at the Coimbatore Corporation VOC Park Zoo. The rosy pelican laid two eggs a month ago and hatched one of the two. The little bird is healthy and is under monitor. Lots of tourists flocked at the zoo to see the baby bird. As rosy pelicans were known to have low fertility rate, the staff took extra efforts to have a pelican hatchling in the Zoo.

Jammu/ Samba/ Udhampur (JandK), Aug 17 (ANI): Following days of restrictions, mobile internet services have been restored in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir on August 17. 2G mobile internet services have been restored in Jammu, Reasi, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts of the region. Mobile internet services were suspended in Jammu on August 5, in view of security concerns in the region. The restrictions on the telecom services were continued in the wake of abrogation of Article 370. On August 16, the government had decided to lift restrictions imposed in Jammu and Kashmir, in a phased and gradual manner. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam had said, "Telecom connectivity will gradually be erased and restored in a phase-wise manner keeping in mind constant threat posed by terrorist's organisations in using mobile connectivity to organise terror actions. Prevention detentions are being continuously reviewed and an appropriate decision would be made based on law and
