Nalanda (Bihar), Aug 13 (ANI): A woman from Bihar's Nalanda tried to sell her 2 children. She is suffering from tuberculosis. After the media reports, she has been admitted to a hospital. "As soon as I got to know about it, I admitted her at the hospital. Her children are suffering from malnutrition; they have also been admitted at the hospital. All of them are receiving medical treatment. The woman's husband had left her and she is very poor," told Hospital Manager Surjeet Kumar.

Mansarovar (Tibet Autonomous Region), Aug 13 (ANI): The 13th batch of Pilgrims for Kailash Mansarovar yatra conducted Yagna near Mansarovar lake. The batch started their Yatra on 30th July."This is very auspicious day for all of us, as Monday is considered very auspicious day in context of Lord Shiva. We carried out a small Yagna for wellbeing of our families and batch-mates," told Liaison Officer Surinder Grover to ANI. 28 batches comprising of 50 pilgrims each are participating in the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage through a treacherous route that crosses the territorial boundaries of India, Nepal, and China this year. According to the Hinduism, the Mansarovar lake was first created in the mind of Brahma after which it manifested on Earth. Hence it is called "Manasa sarovaram", which is a combination of the Sanskrit words for "mind" and "lake". The lake is also supposed to be the summer abode of the hamsa.
Mumbai, Aug 12 (ANI): After former Pakistan high commissioner to India Abdul Basit alleged that he managed to "influence" the writings of Indian columnist Shobhaa De, the latter said she feels "deeply insulted" on Basit's remark. De added that what Basit was trying to do was dangerous and malicious to anybody who believes in truth. De further said she is a patriotic Indian, who has built her career on credibility and positive journalism for over 40 years.

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Aug 12 (ANI): Mohammad Mufiz has returned to Ranchi on occasion of Eid-Al-Adha on August 12. He was stuck in Saudi Arabia for past 3 months. After the intervention of Chief Minister Raghubar Das, he got an emergency passport to return to his native state Ranchi. Speaking to ANI, his brother said, "A friend of him took him to Saudi on a fake passport and said he will get ?50,000/month. When he got there, the company offered him only ?15,000 and stopped paying that also after a few months. They even filed a case against him. So we wrote to Jharkhand CM."
Srinagar (J-K), Aug 12 (ANI): Rohit Kansal, Secretary of Planning Development - Monitoring Department in Srinagar, told reporters that locals in the state celebrated Eid peacefully on August 12. While speaking to ANI, Rohit Kansal said, "The District and Divisional Administration carried out a number of activities including interacting with maulvis, people, organising committees, and as a result, we've had an extremely peaceful and relaxed Eid today." He added, "There have been some reports in the media about firing by security agencies and deaths. CCTV cameras are being thoroughly inspected ahead of the Independence Day, DCP of metro said. Ajayakumar, the District Collector of Wayanad - his Lok Sabha constituency - to review the flood-situation in the region, which is witnessing incessant rainfall. Gandhi also met flood victims in various relief camps, and informed the media that the major concerns for the locals were compensation and rehabilitation. Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Aug 12 (ANI): Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman, K Sivan on August 12 informed that Chandrayaan 2 will leave earth and move towards the moon. It will reach the moon's orbit on August 20. While speaking to ANI, K Sivan said, "On 14th early morning, around 3:30, we are going to have a maneuver called trans-lunar injection, by this maneuver, Chandrayaan 2 will leave earth and move towards the moon." The spacecraft will be the first Indian expedition to attempt a soft landing on the lunar surface. This mission will make India the fourth country after the US, Russia, and China to carry out a soft landing on the moon.
Sangli (Maharashtra), Aug 12 (ANI): Beaming with joy and hope after being rescued from flood, several women tied 'rakhi' to National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel in flood-affected Maharashtra's Sangli. Surrounded by floodwater and gripped with shortage of daily supplies, several women expressed gratitude towards their saviour. This comes a few days before the Hindu festival of 'Raksha Bandhan'. New Delhi, Aug 12(ANI): Google on Monday dedicated a doodle to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Indian scientist Vikram Sarabhai. The doodle, illustrated by Mumbai-based guest artist Pavan Rajurkar, had a blue and white portrait of the renowned physicist along with moon, rocket and stars. Sarabhai, often known as the father of Indian research program had established the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in 1962. President Ram Nath Kovind paid his respects to the renowned scientist, hailing him as the "father of India's space programme." Sarabhai was born on August 12, 1919, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He passed away on December 30, 1971.
Meppadi (Kerala), Aug 12 (ANI): The death toll in flood-hit Kerala mounted to 76 on August 12. There are 1,654 flood relief camps spread across the state. These camps host 2,87,585 persons from 83,274 families. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited flood affected areas in Kerala's Meppadi on August 12. He wished people Eid-ul-Adha over there. At across 14 districts of Kerala people have been affected by floods. Malappuram remained the most affected district where 24 people have lost their lives while 50 were reported missing.

Principal Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir's Planning Development and Monitoring Department, Rohit Kansal congratulated citizens to celebrate Eid peacefully in the state. While speaking to ANI, Kansal said, "Over 5,000 devotees offered prayers at the Eidgah in Jammu. We have reports of the successful conclusion of Eid prayers from the Kashmir Valley in Baramulla, Ramban, Anantnag, Shopian, Awantipora, Srinagar and other places." He further said, "Over 2.5 lakh sacrificial animals were arranged by administration, mandis were set up in 8 places, treasuries and banks were kept open, over Rs 500 crore was released in 2-3 days, including wages of employees and others. Restrictions were eased on Sunday, we saw traffic at many places."
