Rohtak (Haryana), Oct 04 (ANI): Former chief minister of Haryana and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda filed his nomination papers from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi assembly constituency on October 04. He was accompanied by Congress party workers. Earlier, Hooda also performed 'hawan' at his residence. Haryana Assembly elections to be held on Oct 21 and counting of votes will be done on Oct 24.
Wayanad (Kerala), Oct 04 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joined protestors in Wayanad where the demonstrators are on hunger strike against the travel ban on National Highway-766 that links Kerala and Karnataka. The hunger strike by activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the Youth Congress and Youth League against the ban entered the 10th day on October 04. While addressing them, Gandhi said, "This issue to be resolved in an intelligent and productive way." Rahul Gandhi is the MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency.
Malda (West Bengal), Oct 04 (ANI): The death toll rose to three after a boat carrying passengers capsized in Mahananda River. The incident took place in West Bengal's Malda district on October 03. NDRF personnel are present at the spot and conducting rescue operation. The boat was carrying people from Katihar in Bihar to Malda in West Bengal.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 04 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express from capital of Uttar Pradesh on October 04. Speaking at the flag off event, Adityanath said, "It is the first corporate train of the country. I congratulate the first batch of passengers travelling in it and hope such initiatives are taken to connect other cities also." Indian Railways' first private train Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will start its commercial run from October 5. The train will be entirely run by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will run six days a week, except Tuesdays.
Patna (Bihar), Oct 04 (ANI): Many parts of Bihar including capital Patna which are battling flood situation saw fresh rainfall flooding the streets again. Heavy downpour led to streets being waterlogged in several parts of Patna. Patna's Patliputra Colony and Rajendra Nagar continued to reel under impact of flood. NDRF teams continued rescue operation in the flood-affected areas of Patna, as the natural disaster threw normal life out of gear. According to reports, 73 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state till now.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Oct 04 (ANI): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor responded to US President Donald Trump's remark that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the 'father of the nation'. He said, "Maybe Mr Trump doesn't know that independent India was born in 1947 and Modi ji's birth date is either 1949 or '50. It'll be difficult if the father is born after the child." Speaking on the President Trump's mediation remark over Kashmir issue, Tharoor said, "We don't need a mediator. We've no trouble in talking to Pakistan. But we can't talk to them if they've guns in one hand and bombs in the other. They should put those down and lock up terrorists." He further added, "Congress and BJP's stand is the same - we can't negotiate with a gun pointed to our heads. It's the position of India. There's no need of a third party. We're not talking to them (Pakistan) right now because they're using terrorists and we can never accept that."

Uber Works connects workers with businesses that need to fill available shifts during peak demands. Rewa (MP), Oct 04 (ANI): A poster of Mahatma Gandhi, at 'Bapu Bhavan' in MP's Rewa, was found defaced on Oct 02. An urn containing his ashes was also allegedly found missing. Police said, "Poster has been repainted, FIR registered. Investigation is on. We've not received a complaint regarding the urn."

He walked out from Chhattisgarh Assembly after he was not allowed time to speak on Mahatma Gandhi. A special session was organised in the Assembly to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Amritsar (Punjab), Oct 04 (ANI): Two persons were arrested in Punjab's Amritsar with around 12 kg of heroin by the rural police on October 03. The two accused have been identified as Gurpreet Gopi and Gurpal Singh. Police have taken them in custody for three days. While speaking to ANI, Sub Inspector of Amritsar Mohit Kumar said, "12 kg heroin has been recovered from their possession. The accused have been sent to three days police remand."
