Krishna (AP), Sep 02 (ANI): As Ganesha Chaturthi kick started in the country on September 02, different types of Lord Ganpati idols started showing in the country. Devotees across the country used different types of materials to make 'Bappa' attractive. Ganesh Mandal in Nandigama town of Andhra Pradesh made Lord Ganesha idol with sugarcanes. The Ganesha idol is made with three tones of sugarcane and 10 people put their efforts for five days to complete' Buppa's' idol. This sugarcane Ganesha is attracting scores of people. Nandigama Ganesh Mandal is famous for coming up with unique Ganesha idols every year.
Srinagar (J-K), Sep 02 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir's Principal secretary (Planning Commission) Rohit Kansal said, "All essential supplies continue in the Valley and major hospitals in Srinagar have been functioning normally." He further added, "Despite easing of restrictions in over 90% of the Valley threats by anti national elements have been keeping many markets from opening, incidents in parimpora and stone pelting on a local driver are unfortunate and have been taken due cognizance of the security agencies."

These prisoners underwent training for two months. These are the prisoners of open jail. Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated across the country on Monday. Mumbai, Sep 02 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on September 02 visited Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai. Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the prime and prominent Ganesha idols of the city. Shah sought blessings of Lord Ganesha as the 10-day long festivities. The festival celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. The festival is celebrated with immense religious fervour and gaiety in Maharashtra as well as in Karnataka. Devotees offer 'modak' to Lord Ganesha whom they lovingly called 'Bappa'. The Lalbaugcha Raja has been crafted in a traditional manner and is installed pandal decorated on a theme of ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft which was launched in July.

New Delhi, Sep 2 (ANI): A police-public meeting with an aim to further strengthen the law and order in the National Capital Territory of Delhi was organised in Model Town by North- West District Police. Keeping a special focus on women safety, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijayanta Arya educated women about the mobile application Himmat. She also asked women to remain watchful of the snatching, cyber fraud and any other type of troubles. She instructed her team to immediately and expeditiously look into the problems she was made aware of by the women present during the meeting. The objective of such program is to bridge the gap between the police and public.

The idol will be immersed in milk for Ganesh Visarjan and will be turned into chocolate milkshake and will be served to underprivileged children, thus giving out a message of celebrating eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi. First year, they made 40 kg Ganesha, second year they made 55 kg, third year they made 65 kg and this year they made 106 kg Ganpati idol. While speaking to ANI, the restaurateur said, "We are giving the message to the environment. It is possible to bring eco-friendly Ganesha to our home. We should save our environment."
Kochi (Kerala), Sep 02 (ANI): One of the prime festivals of Kerala, Onam kick started in the state with religious fervour and enthusiasm from September 1. The annual harvest festival which is celebrated in August and September falls on 22nd Nakshatra Thiruvonam in the Malayalam calendar called Chingam. The state seeps into festive mood during this festival that started on September 1 and will be on till September 13. As per the legends, Onam is celebrated to commemorate King Mahabali. Kolkata, Sep 02 (ANI): West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar met BJP leader Arjun Singh at Apollo Hospital in Kolkata on September 02. Singh sustained a head injury during a clash between his party activists and the police in Shyamnagar area on September 01. While speaking on Bengal's current situation, Dhankhar said, "State of West Bengal needs peaceful atmosphere. State of WB does not need violence." They reached High Commission to give a memorandum over the forced religious conversion in the neighbouring country. Pathankot (Punjab), Sep 02 (ANI): IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman on September 02 flew a sortie in a MiG-21 fighter aircraft from the Pathankot Airbase. It was Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa's last sortie in combat aircraft. "Both of us have 2 things in common - 1st, both of us ejected and 2nd, both of us have fought Pakistanis. I fought in Kargil, he fought after Balakot. 3rd, I have flown with his father. It's an honour for me to do my last sortie in IAF, in a fighter aircraft, with his son," said IAF Chief while talking to ANI.
