Trump arrives in Helsinki for summit with Putin

New Delhi, Jul 16 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump arrived in Helsinki, Finland for the much-awaited summit with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The two leaders are scheduled to meet later on Monday. Trump, who is on a seven-day, three-nation European trip flew in from Scotland, where he and his wife, Melania, spent the weekend at his golf resort. Earlier on Friday, President Trump said that he will "absolutely" ask his Russian counterpart about Moscow's alleged involvement in the US presidential election.

EAM Swaraj meets Bahrain Prime Minister

Manama (Bahrain), Jul 15 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Prime Minister of Bahrain Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa in Manama, Bahrain on Sunday. Earlier, she attended the first ministerial meeting of the India-Arab League Cooperation Forum to deepen the country's ties with the 22-member group. The meet also assumes significance in the wake of the growing threat of Islamic State in the region. EAM Swaraj is on two-day visit to Bahrain from July 14 to 15. This is External Affairs Minister's 3rd visit to Bahrain.

Shaikh Khalifa praised the contribution of Indian community settled in Bahrain towards the economic development of Bahrain. EAM Swaraj is on two-day visit to Bahrain from July 14 to 15. On Saturday, she jointly inaugurated impressive Embassy of India Complex in Manama along with her Bahraini counterpart. The new embassy complex is equipped with State-of-the-art Facilities to cater the growing need of people of both countries. This is External Affairs Minister's 3rd visit to Bahrain.

MQM activists protest outside White House against upcoming general elections in Pakistan

Washington DC (US), Jul 15 (ANI): Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists staged protest in Washington DC against upcoming general elections in Pakistan. The protest was held over continuous atrocities against refugees in Pakistan by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). An MQM activist alleged that Government and intelligence agencies in Pakistan are busy in negotiation with terrorists to elect a weak puppet government. Heavy rainfall claims 3 lives, disrupts life and highways in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal), July 13 (ANI): The incessant rainfall in Nepal claimed 3 lives on Thursday in Nepal's Bhaktapur city. Three members of a family were buried when a house collapsed after rainfall which continued for about 10 hours starting from Wednesday evening. The caving in and landslides in various road sections have disrupted the transport in the mountainous districts of the country. The major highways of Nepal, the Araniko and BP Highways, came to a standstill because of the mudslide and the inundation but were cleared in active initiation of the army and the police. The Narayangarh-Muglin section which serves as the backbone for trade and supplies is functioning one-way as the landslide disrupts the highway with the caving-in in various sections. The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal has warned of continued rainfall till the next three days with warning of heavy rainfall in Eastern Nepal.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif says goodbye to her kids ahead of her arrest

New Delhi, Jul 13 (ANI): Former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam tweeted a goodbye message to her kids ahead of her arrest in Avenfield reference case. "Told my kids to be brave in the face of oppression. But kids will still be kids. Goodbyes are hard, even for the grownups", she tweeted. She along with her father Nawaz Sharif will be arrested by NAB at UAE's Abu Dhabi Airport later this morning. Flights that were to arrive at Islamabad airport this morning have been diverted to Lahore airport. Maryam and Nawaz are expected to arrive Pakistan today after which they will be put under arrest and taken to jail under heavy security.
