Japanese firms help rebuild quake affected areas and produce energy through waste

Tokyo / Yangon, Apr 28 (ANI): The Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011 caused extensive damage to the Tohoku area in Japan. This agricultural high school building was washed away by the tsunami and the experimental facilities were destroyed. Kubota Corporation, a major agricultural equipment manufacturer, has provided various supports to this agricultural school. Students began to grow soba that was suitable to the environment after the earthquake. Memorial and reconstruction commemoration events are held every year in areas that suffered from the earthquake. Kubota employees also participated and delivered brown rice bread which was made through supporting activities for the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in 2016. Nepal's Rashtriya Prajtanra Party unveils manifesto for next month local election

Kathmandu (Nepal) 27 April (ANI): Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Kamal Thapa unveiled his party's manifesto in the capital. The party which is widely known for its advocacy of Hindu state in its manifesto, the complete ban on the cow slaughter and enforced conversion of religion. It has also pledged employment to at least one member of each family with at least 25 beds in hospital on all local levels.The party also promises to bring revolution in education at the local level by allocating a 20% of the budget to the education field.

CPN-UML calls on Election Commissioner of Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal, April 27, (ANI): Calling on the Election Commissioner of Nepal, the Communist Party of Nepal - Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML), the opposition party in the country, has condemned the Government's decision to announce the budget in between the upcoming local body election.Protesting against the move, the party held a discussion with the Election Commissioner and other officials.They also urged the Election Commission to avoid counting of votes after the commencement of the first phase of election.

Protests erupt against China Pakistan Economic Corridor project

Sindh (Pakistan), Apr 27 (ANI): Hundreds of protesters led by Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) held a rally against China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Sindh province of Pakistan.The protesters were carrying anti-CPEC, anti-extremist religious terrorism, anti-human rights violations' banners and placards, demanding safe recovery of missing Sindhi political activists. They protested for rejection of CPEC projects and demanded total independence for Sindh. On the occasion of 22nd death anniversary of Saint G M Syed, the 20th century Sindhi scholar and politician who laid the foundations of Sindhudesh movement, a political gathering was also held in the town of Sann in District Jamshoro.

Indian High Commissioner submits an appeal against Jadhav's death sentence, demands early release

Islamabad (Pakistan), Apr 26 (ANI): Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale on Wednesday met Pakistan Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in Islamabad. Bambawale said that he has submitted an appeal against Kulbhushan Jadhav's death sentence to the Pakistan foreign Secretary and demanded that he be released. Meanwhile, Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor has already rejected any chance of granting consular access to Jadhav, who was sentenced to death for espionage and subversive activities.

Vice President Hamid Ansari meets Armenia PM Karen Karapetyan, holds delegation level talks

YEREVAN (ARMENIA), Apr 25 (ANI): Vice President Hamid Ansari met Armenia Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Tuesday in Armenia's Yerevan. Many significant agreements have been signed and a delegation level talk was also held during the meeting. During this visit, the Vice President is expected to discuss India's bid to join the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) with Polish leaders. Vice President Ansari is on a five-day visit to Armenia and Poland. Moreover, this is the Vice President's first visit to both the countries. Protest erupts in PoK's Kotli over forced land grabbing by Pakistan army

Nepal Polls to be held in two phases

Kathmandu, Nepal, April 23(ANI): After a prolonged meeting at the official residence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the ruling alliance and the United Democratic Madhesi Front reached a consensus to go for peaceful local body polls in two phases, provided the government passes the constitution amendment bill through fast track.After hour-long negotiations, it was decided that the number of constituencies in Tarai-Madhes region shall be increased, considering population density.Language Commission's recommendation on official languages in the constitution's schedule will be included.They also agreed upon to resolve the issues of provincial boundaries through a powerful federal commission.The second date for the polls would be finalised in consultation with the Election Commission.

Activists protest against Pakistan Army-led violence in Balochistan

Berlin (Germany), Apr 23 (ANI): A group of Baloch natives on Saturday gathered together in the German capital Berlin and protested against the widespread violence by Pakistani Army in Balochistan. Carrying placards which read slogans against the atrocities rained by Pakistan, the protestors demanded United Nation's attention on the burning issue. The placards were carrying messages against mass genocide, freedom and enforced disappearances of the Baloch people and activists. During the protest, they also voiced their opposition to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a multi-billion dollar project that aims to connect Kashgar, a province in Western China to the port of Gwadar based in Balochistan. The Baloch activists have been frequently raising their voices ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue at the global level in 2016.

UDMF-Government inches closer to strike deal in holding elections in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal) 22 April (ANI): Recently the ruling alliance government ensured the United Democratic Front (UDMF) to address their demands reviewing the new bill on constitution amendment. With three weeks left for holding the election the hints by UDMF's meeting agreement has ignited the hopes for the end in political deadlock but is yet to seal a concrete agreement. In the first round of meeting, the UDMF expressed their reservation over the new amendment bill and demanded for amendment in Article 7 and 274. The meeting resulted as inconclusive. A new task force was formed, which is assigned to do homework for the revision of the newly tabled Constitution Amendment Bill.
