Kathmandu, Nepal, Feb 15 (ANI): The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has unveiled a plan to connect the Everest Base Camp and the famous Annapurna Trekking Route with free broadband. The plan to connect the Everest Base Camp with broadband falls under the plan to connect all the district headquarters of Nepal with broadband. A large number of foreign tourists visit Nepal for trekking in the Himalayas every year. It is the major source of revenue for the country.

Birgunj (Nepal), Feb 14 (ANI): Outgoing Indian envoy to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, has laid emphasis on strengthening bilateral ties between India and Nepal. Outgoing Indian envoy to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, addressed the business community at a farewell event in Birgunj town. He said India and Nepal have historical relations and the governments on both sides are working on ways to strengthen those ties. He has served as India's envoy to Nepal for 42 months.
Xianyang (Chinese), Feb 14 (ANI): A Chinese army veteran Wang Qi who lost touch with his family after being imprisoned in India has finally been reunited with his relatives in Chinese city Xianyang. It was a family reunion that had been delayed for more than half a century. Wang, in his late 70s, returned to his homeland he had been pining for day and night, after being held in India for 54 years. Wang's family in China had been anxiously waiting for his arrival. Finally, on the day of Lantern Festival, a traditional holiday for family reunions, their dream came true. Wang was accompanied by his son, daughter-in-law and his granddaughter during the return trip. More than 60 of his family members and relatives in China went to the airport for the long-awaited reunion.
Kathmandu, Nepal, Feb 13, (ANI): Madhesi Jana-Adhikar Forum -Nepal (Democratic), an alliance partner of the ruling Prachanda government, has threatened to step out if the Prime Minister fails to fulfil the responsibility of amending the constitution. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal made an agreement with the long time agitating Madhesh-based parties to amend the constitution. After completing six months in power, the government has only tabled the amendment proposal, which is yet to process.
Nepal, Feb 12 (ANI): In a Party function in Birgunj, Tarai-Madhesh Loktantrik (Democratic) Party president Mahantha Thakur stated that the conduct of elections is not possible in the current political situation. According to Mahantha Thakur the government has failed in bringing an amendment which can meet the Madheshi's demands. He said he would oppose the elections and would not allow the conduct of elections if Madheshi demands are not met in the constitutional amendment.

Kathmandu (Nepal) Feb 10(ANI): Prime minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has assured that the elections, around which a lot of rumors are being spread, will be held on time. The delay in the announcement of the election dates was raising doubts over the conduct of elections. However, Prime Minister came out in the open and has said that elections will be conducted soon. The cabinet meeting last week wrote a letter to the Election Commission, Nepal seeking preparations for the local election. However, the commission has not taken any decision as the letter didn't have any mention of the date of the election. Prime Minister Dahal also appealed everyone to create a favorable environment for holding the election with the hope of participation from all the sides.

Speaking at an event titled "Right to Self Determination of Jammu and Kashmir people and Freedom of Expression" at the Islamabad Press Club, they highlighted several issues, including a demand to lift the ban on students unions and the right to freedom of speech and expression. The United Kashmir Peoples' National Party (UKPNP) opposed to the construction of mega projects in PoK and Gilgit Baltistan, describing such works as a sheer violation of United Nations resolutions. Bara,Nepal, Feb 07 (ANI): Nepal Police has arrested 48-year-old Shamsul Hoda and three others for their involvement in the derailment of Indore- Patna Express in Kanpur. Hoda, was in Dubai when a local criminal Brij Giri, who was arrested in Nepal, exposed his role in the derailment of the train killing 140 people on November 21. Hoda, a suspected ISI agent, was deported back from Dubai to Nepal and arrested at Kathmandu airport. India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) is seeking access to him to investigate the incident.
Islamabad, Pakistan, Feb 07 (ANI): Banned terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad has launched a massive recruitment and fund raising drive in Pakistan to intensify its jihadi activities. The outfit, responsible for several terror attacks in India, has been holding rallies across Pakistan to instigate the youth towards performing 'jihad' against India. The Jaish is proscribed in Pakistan, and its chief Masood Azhar, is in protective custody after a terror attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base in January last year in India. It is believed the long leash given to the Jaish could be part of a deliberate strategy by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency to offset the recent house arrest of Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.
