India Cements today reported 17.4% rise in net profit to Rs 64.92 crore for the fourth quarter ending March 31, 2012.

The Chennai-based cement major had reported net profit of Rs 55.28 crore during the same period of the previous year.

For the year ending March 31, 2012 net profit soared three-fold to Rs 271.46 crore against Rs 65.30 crore during the same period of previous year.

Total income for the fourth quarter ending March 31, 2012 stood at Rs 1,122.95 crore as against Rs 1,000.37 crore registered during the same period of last year.

For the year ending March 2012, total income rose to Rs 4,222.69 crore from Rs 3,540.33 crore registered during the same period of previous year, India Cements Vice chairman and Managing Director N Srinivasan told reporters here.
