Lead futures extend losses on weak global trend

Amid a lower global trend and sluggish domestic demand, lead prices today traded lower by Rs 1.10 to Rs 107 per kg in futures market.

A the Multi Commodity Exchange, December lead shed Rs 1.10, or 1.02%, to Rs 107 per kg, with a business turnover of 4,165 lots.

The January delivery traded lower by Re 1, or 0.92%, to Rs 107.95 per kg, with a trade volume of 220 lots.

Market analysts said apart from weakening global trend, subdued domestic demand mainly helped lead futures prices to decline.

Meanwhile, lead declined by 0.5% to $1,989 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
