Widow raped in Tamil Nadu

A 25-year old woman, whose husband died last month, was allegedly raped by a man at a village near here, police said today.

The woman, was raped at her home in Yerakadu by Karthick (30), a resident of the same village, last night, they said.

Following a complaint by the woman, a case had been registered and search is on for the accused, police said.

Around 150 residents of the village gathered in front of the DSP's office here and staged a protest seeking immediate arrest of the culprit and left after being assured of action, they said.
