The team bagged Rs 4 crore from ticket sales from its first match in Kolkata on April 20 against Hyderabad Deccan Chargers.

According to Samar Paul, joint secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), "Almost all tickets have been sold out except a handful that are priced at Rs 655. These too will be sold out on April 29 morning. There will be room for 6,000 more spectators this time at Eden Gardens since Shah Rukh Khan is not doing any live performance this time and therefore the seats that were removed for his security last time could be used again."

Eden Gardens will be able to accommodate close to 80,000 spectators on April 29.

Tickets at Eden Gardens have been priced at Rs 110, Rs 150, Rs 200, Rs 325, Rs 650, Rs 1200, and up to Rs 5,550.

According to industry sources, Shah Rukh Khan's Knight Riders will be able to rake in Rs 25-28 crore from the seven matches his team plays in Kolkata.

Shah Rukh Khan has to pay at least Rs 80-90 lakh per match and his take in is just about Rs 3 crore from a full stadium.

Khan pays Rs 15-20 lakh to the police, and municipality tax of Rs 5 lakh, taking expenses per match at Rs 1.70 crore.

Khan bought Knight Riders for Rs 300 crore and will have to pay Rs 30 crore per year for the next 10 years. The total cost per year for the team will be about Rs 75 crore.

According to Tushar Sarkar, treasurer of CAB, about Rs 70 lakh was required to ready Eden Gardens for the first IPL match in Kolkata on April 20.

This is the amount used for any one-day match at Eden Gardens every year.

However, for the remaining IPL matches to be played at Eden Gardens, costs would come down.

About Rs 42 lakhs has been paid to CESC for electricity for flood lights.

The biggest organisational cost at Eden Gardens is Rs 45 lakhs spent on redesigning the 32 boxes at Eden Gardens, which now have new chairs and carpet, and now air-conditioned with televisions.

The Kolkata Police will get Rs 10 lakhs per IPL match played at Eden Gardens, for organising security.

For seven matches played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Police will earn Rs 75 lakhs. Put together, the organisational cost for the tournament at Eden Gardens will be close to of Rs 4.25 crore.
