Cycle rally kicks off in Shimla

The second International Trans-Himalayan Hercules MTB cycle rally got underway in Himachal Pradesh today. The event would end in Manali on October 13 after passing through 650 km long roads of the hill state at a height of 3,600 metres at Chattru.

"This year there are 60 participants as compared to last year when there were only 36," said Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association President Mohit Sood.

"After the well known Trans-Alps Europe and Trans-Rocky Canada rallies, it is the third cycle rally of its kind in the world," he claimed.
