Life's a beach
HIT THE ROAD

The monsoon, however, is another matter. There's lots of rain and...well, lots of rain. Surprisingly enough, it may be just about the perfect time to go there. You'll have everything to yourself; the beach, the hotels and the restaurants (the ones that are open, that is). Just think of it " a cold one, a plate of freshly fried fish, your feet up and the rain pelting down on the beach. Perfect, what? Goa is 600 km from Mumbai down NH17, one of the best driving roads in the country. It's winding and curvaceous, with the hills on one side and the sea on the other. There are any number of hotels in Goa and you're guaranteed a cut-price room during the rains. Don't know where to go? pablo@business-standard.com | |||
