Amara Raja Batteries appoints new director
Prior to this, Bhamidipati has was the executive director, member of India leadership team at PwC

Amara Raja Batteries Limited, a subsidiary of the city-based Amara Raja Group and an industrial and automotive battery-maker, has appointed Ravi Bhamidipati as an additional director and executive director of the company with effect from October 08 till March 31, 2014.
Bhamidipati holds a bachelor degree in chemical engineering from Andhra University and a post graduate degree from NITIE, Mumbai. He served as an independent director of Amara Raja Batteries from 2005 to 2008, and was associated with Amara Raja Group of Companies as a management consultant from October 2010 till September 2011, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
"He has been instrumental in important strategic decisions of the Group," it added.
Prior to joining Amara Raja, Bhamidipati has was the executive director and was a member of India leadership team at PwC. Before that, he held various senior level positions at RHL (P&G) India, Asian Paints, Arvind Clothing, etc.
The company's scrip is currently trading at Rs 220.20 on BSE, up 0.05% over the previous close of Rs 220.10.
