Amara Raja net up 177%

Amara Raja Batteries has posted 177 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 12.71 crore for the quarter ended September 30 against Rs 4.58 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Net sales of the company grew by a robust 51 per cent to Rs 132.02 crore from Rs 87.07 crore last year.

For the half year ended September 30, the company's net profit zoomed 184 per cent to Rs 22.13 crore from Rs 7.78 crore in the corresponding period of 2005-06. Its net sales stood at Rs 319.16, 68 per cent higher than Rs 189.14 crore in the same period last year.
