Bajaj board meet skips demerger controversy

The Board of Directors of Babaj Auto has met but the issue of demerger of its investment and financial services business did not figure in the deliberations.

The issue of demerger was not discussed in yesterday's meeting, Bajaj Auto Chairman Rahul Bajaj told the agency.Bajaj refused to divulge more details.

He said before taking up the issue of demerger stock exchanges would have to be informed at least a week in advance so the issue did not come up at yesterday's meeting.

Analysts say that the demerger could be decided by the Bajaj Auto Board by May-June.
