Brightstar Corporation starts India operations

| Arun Batra, country head of Brightstar Telecom, said, "Wireless service in India is expected to grow exponentially in the near future. Even with a population of over a billion, it is still a highly under-penetrated market in terms of both wireline and wireless communication when compared with countries such as Korea, Malaysia and China. Brightstar's presence will provide increased availability of products and value-added services to wireless network operators, agents, dealers and retailers who serve the wireless telephony market in India. | Brightstar operates 29 facilities in 23 countries worldwide and is expected to exceed revenues of $2.5 billion in 2005 with a 75 per cent year-on-year growth in wireless devices. | |
| In 2004, Brightstar marketed, sold and distributed over 18 million devices globally from the industries leading manufacturers, this represents almost 3 per cent of the worldwide wireless devices sales. | |
| This year the company expects to handle over 25 million devices. Brightstar is currently working with more than 160 network operators and reaching over 15,000 points-of"�sale globally. | |
