Broekman Logistics plans expansion

| Broekman Logistics India, is planning to open 18 offices in India and to increase its employee strength from 120 to 200 by 2009, as part of its expansion plans. In 2006, the group took over Courcan (now Broekman Logistics India). |
| The company will open its Kolkata office on February 15 and its Hyderabad office in April 2008, said Raymond Reiemen, executive board member, Broekman. |
| Raymond Riemen, chief executive officer, Broekman Group, said, "We want to increase India's share in terms of revenue, from the present 2 per cent to 10 per cent in the next two years." Last year, Broekman group's turnover was Euro 480 million. |
| In India the company will offer door-to-door services, he added. The company currently offers import and export of cargo services through air and sea. |
| Reiemen added, the company is planning for an automotive terminal near Sulurpet in Andhra Pradesh. This will be, however, done only with the support of government. The company is also considering the proposal of the Chennai port trust to work on the proposed multi-layer car park planned inside the port. |
| He said the company operates the Rotterdam Car Terminal specialising in the handling of cars and other Ro-Ro cargo. |
| The terminal covers a bonded area with a storage capacity of 12,000 cars, including a multi-storey warehouse with a capacity of 5,000 cars. |
