Domecq plans growth in north

Aiming at 20 per cent growth, Allied Domecq, one of the world's largest suppliers of premium spirits and wines, is eyeing a sale of 120,000 cases during the period starting this September till August next year in the country, with a focus on strengthening its top end market.
 
"We would continue to focus on consolidating our premium segment market in the country," Neeraj Kumar, general manager, marketing, Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine said.
 
The company has also decided to enter into the IMFL segment with the launch of "Curtis no 1" in some parts of the country including Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. "We had entered the IMFL segment by introducing the 'Curtis no 1' brand in the country," Kumar added.
 
In India, Allied Domecq was selling several brands including Teacher's Highland cream scotch whisky, Teachers's 50, Super Premium Ballantine's 17, Sauza Tequila, Old Smuggler, Long John, Old Smuggler rum, Old Smuggler gin and Old Smuggler brandy.
 
The company, with annual sales of more than 3, 229 million pound, owns 14 of the top 100 international premium spirit brands.
 
The company has already built its presence in key markets like the US, UK, Spain, Germany and France.
