Honda Motorcycle launches new Activa with more mileage

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited (HMSI), two-wheeler subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Japan, today launched the "New Honda Activa", with refresing new style, more mileage and hoard of new features.
Addressing mediapersons here on the occasion of the launch Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Manager, Sales, HMSI said that the new Activa is powered with an 110cc Honda engine, with a 15 per cent increased mileage.
Its metal body ensures more durability while the Tuff-up tube in rear tyre makes it more reliable. Being promoted with the punchline 'Joy ON & ON' New Honda Activa will be available in six colours.
Priced at Rs 41,062 ex-showroom Hyderabad, Guleria said.
HMSI aims to continue being the leader in the market and looks forward to continue meeting the customers' requirement with the changing times. The company will achieve 10.7 lakh sales mark in this financial year 2008-09 with growth of 18 per cent over last year and has set a target to produce 12.5 lakh two-wheeler units in the next financial year, Guleria said.

HMSI has increased manufaturing capacity of the plant from 10 lakh to 12.5 lakh units. For this the compnay has already invested Rs 900 crores and another Rs 300 crores will be invested in 2009-10.

This technology enables shorter braking distance and stable braking, very useful for normal riders. The new model will also be 15 per cent more fuel-efficient. Honda believes that this value creating will be beneficial to Indial customers," Hamamatsu, Advisor, HMSI Sales said.
"We took the initiative to launch the all New Activa as one of our most popular products which has been greately appreciated in the Indian Market. Providing true value for money, Activa has set its own benchmarks and has changed the definition of scooter in India. It is a highly desired family vehicle," Guleria added.
"The New Activa has been developed keeping in mind the changing tastes and requirements of our customers. I am confident that the New Activa will furhter strengthen our position and image among the masses." Guleria said.
"We are aiming at further expansion of scooter market with New Activa and have set challenging plan to sell 5.5 lakh New Activas during Finanicial Year 2009-10", Guleria said.
When asked, the New Activa is replacement of the old one and we have stopped manufacturing old Activa from last month, Guleria said.
