Three Hyderabad-based developers –– S Nithin Reddy, Paulomi Roy Choudhary and Ashish Das –– have emerged as the winners of Hackathon challenge during the three-day AppFest 2012 that concluded in Hyderabad recently. A coding marathon running over 24 hours to create an app based on an idea by a fellow participant is the main action at Hackathon.
The winning team developed an app that assists users to remotely lock down their lost smartphones, back up contacts and track its past locations on the map. They received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
Another app ‘Rosary Mate’, a virtual prayer partner, and an app ‘Memory Booster’, which promises to boost memory, were adjudged second and third respectively. More than 400 developers participated in the event, the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), the organiser of AppFest, said in a release on Tuesday.
